Becker nevus syndrome.

Becker nevus syndrome is a phenotype characterized by the fundamental presence of Becker's nevus with ipsilateral hypoplasia of the breast or other skin, skeletal and/or muscular disorders. This syndrome generally originates at birth, intensifies significantly in adolescence and is one of the syndromes that constitute epidermal nevus syndrome. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first case published in the Brazilian literature of Becker nevus syndrome associated with Becker's nevus, ipsilateral breast hypoplasia and scoliosis in a 14-year-old girl.

Nevus lipomatosus superficialis.

Nevus lipomatosus superficialis is a rare benign skin malformation characterised by ectopic adipocytes in the upper dermis. It is classified into two types: a classical Hoffman-Zurhelle type and the solitary type. A case of the classical type with multiple soft, non-tender, pedunculated, cerebriform, skin-coloured papules and nodules over the right lower back is presented in a 21-year-old Malay woman. She had a rare occurrence of ulceration and necrosis of the lesions.

White sponge nevus.

A 33-year-old-man presented with a 13-year history of asymptomatic, white, folded, soft, poorly-demarcated, diffuse plaques bilaterally on his buccal mucosae and lateral surfaces of his tongue. There is no family history of similar lesions. The physical examination and histopathologic findings were consistent with a diagnosis of white sponge nevus. This rare disorder is typically inherited; however, as in this case, there have been a few other cases reported without a familial background.

[Nevus comedonicus syndrome].

BACKGROUND: Nevus comedonicus is a rare disease and diagnosis is made chiefly on clinical grounds. It may occur in isolation, or in rare cases, it may be combined with other congenital malformations to constitute nevus comedonicus syndrome. We report a case of this disease herein. PATIENTS AND METHODS: A young woman aged 20 years presented with cribriform plaques since birth resulting from the juxtaposition of depressed pigmented scars and comedonic lesions. These lesions were found on the entire face, the left hemithorax and the left upper limb, with well delineated distribution stopping at …

Becker's nevus syndrome.

Becker's nevus (BN) is a unilateral hyperpigmented, often hairy, cutaneous hamartoma, with geographic borders. It is usually localized on the shoulder, anterior chest, scapula, or upper arm, but there have been reports of BN in other areas (eg, lower extremities, face). In most cases, the lesion appears in late childhood or adolescence, and both congenital and familial cases have been described.

Hair follicle nevus.

We present a case of hair follicle nevus, a rare hamartoma composed of vellus hair follicles. Hair follicle nevus should be differentiated from accessory auricle, trichofolliculoma and hair nevus.

Keratotic melanocytic nevus.

Thirty-five percent of 363 melanocytic nevi were found to have a keratotic epithelial architectural pattern that was mostly infundibular and not previously emphasized. Keratotic melanocytic nevi were commonly from the trunk of women, and most were associated with an intradermal melanocytic nevus. The clinical and histopathologic features as well as a review of the literature of these keratotic melanocytic nevi are presented.

Deep penetrating nevus.

We report a clinical and histologic study of 70 patients, each with a single melanocytic lesion termed "deep penetrating nevus" (DPN). The lesions are most commonly found on the face, upper trunk, or proximal extremities of patients between the ages of 10 and 30 years. Typically they are darkly pigmented. Histologically they are characterized by loosely organized nests of pleomorphic pigmented cells that penetrate deep into the reticular dermis and often to the subcutaneous fat. Follow-up was obtained from 48 patients. It ranged from 1 to 23 years (mean, 7 years). Despite an initial histologic…

Familial Becker's nevus.

The authors describe 4 patients with Becker's nevus (BN) in two families. Another 4 patients of the german literature are also presented. Together with the first two published cases of BN, familial BN is now known in 10 patients. All three clinical types of BN could be noticed.

[Atrophic zoniform nevus].

The first, in our knowledge, case of naevus atrophicus zoniforme in italian literature is here reported. A 13 year old girl had a thirteen years history of involved numerous depressed areas of skin of the right anterior region of the chest and of the right upper arm. The lesions were round, grey-bluish, smooth, depressed, completely asymptomatic. No inflammatory changes were noticed in affected patches nor in surrounding normal skin. The histologic changes were compatible with dermal atrophy: epidermis was quite normal; dermis war very thin; the thickness of hypodermis was increased. Some larg

Angora hair nevus. A further case of an unusual epidermal nevus representing a hallmark of angora hair nevus syndrome.

BACKGROUND: The association of Blaschko lines with genetic mosaicism has lead to the concept that this pattern represents the manifestation of genetically abnormal skin tissue contrasting with the genetically normal skin. Various mosaic defects affecting not only the skin but also extracutaneous tissues have lead to the description of different types of epidermal nevus syndromes. We present a further case of an unusual organoid epidermal nevus characterized by depigmented hypertrichosis. MAIN OBSERVATIONS: We describe a 2-year-old boy with a systematized angora hair nevus being characterized …

Kissing nevus or divided nevus of the uncircumcised penis in an Indian man.

Kissing nevi are rare congenital melanocytic nevi (CMN) that develop on adjacent skin areas separated during embryogenesis. We report a 25-year-old uncircumcised man with two asymptomatic brownish-black macules on the dorsolateral glans penis and inner foreskin, aligning as "kissing" lesions. Dermoscopy showed a structureless brown center with peripheral pigment globules. Their embryological origin involves melanoblast migration before or during preputial placode separation. While typically benign, rare cases of malignant transformation necessitate regular monitoring. Treatment options, includ
