Vaginal pessaries are commonly used for uterine prolapse. Long forgotten pessaries get incarcerated in the vagina and may erode in the bladder and rectum. We present a unique case of a 60-year-old female patient who presented with dysuria and urge incontinence. In remote areas, bangles are still used as a pessary, which may present with atypical symptoms due to bladder perforation, encrustation, and Vesicovaginal fistula (VVF). VVF with a long curved tract can heal with prolonged catheterization. To our knowledge, this is the first case of glass bangle pessary being reported.

BACKGROUND: Cervical varices complicating pregnancy are rare but can cause significant maternal and perinatal morbidity. There is limited evidence regarding the optimal management of bleeding caused by cervical varices during pregnancy.
CASE: A 38-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital at 16 weeks of gestation due to vaginal hemorrhage in the setting of cervical varices accompanied by placenta previa. Pessaries provide nonsurgical management of pelvic organ prolapse in women who are not viable candidates for or who do not choose to undergo surgical intervention. It is necessary to take into consideration that when pessary use is indicated, it is crucial that the clinician assess the physical and mental capabilities of the individual. A client with compromised eyesight or motor abilities may not be able to manage the insertion and subsequent care of the device.

The own method of uterine prolapse treatment with the use of beeswax pessary is presented. The described method is applied in cases where general health conditions do not allow to perform the surgery. The study revealed that the beeswax is a good material to make a vaginal pessary. It's great plasticity allows individual modelling in compliance with anatomical conditions of treated patient. That provides the proper stability of uterine position. The risk of possible urinary stress incontinence due to uterine reposition is also diminished.

To evaluate the efficiency of cerclage or pessary a prospective random study has been done from 1982 to 1983. Pelvic score of Bishop and tocolysis index of Baumgarten were used to define the situation at the beginning. Success has been estimated with help of neonatal parameters (birth weight, Apgar score and RDS-morbidity) and final gestational week. Both methods are equal in their effects.

The purpose of this case series is to provide preliminary evidence on the efficacy of pessary application in women with short cervix and at risk for preterm labor. Between May 2015 and July 2015, four pregnant women were followed-up with Arabin pessaries. The gestational age at the time of diagnosis was between the 23(th) and 29(th) weeks. Prevention of spontaneous preterm birth is an important public health priority. Pessary may be a potential therapy in cases of cervical insufficiency, in singleton and multiple gestations. Availability of transvaginal sonography for accurate assessment of cervical length is allowing for the tailoring of therapy to a more specific subset of patients who may benefit from this treatment. Pessary therapy is attractive given the favorable side effect profile, low cost, and ease of placement and removal. Large randomized trials are ongoing to validate initial favorable findings.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the use of Arabin cerclage pessary in the management of cervical insufficiency.
METHODS: The pregnancy outcome of 20 women carrying singleton pregnancy referred for suspected cervical insufficiency and chose Arabin cerclage pessary for treatment from 2009-2011 were reviewed. Pregnancy outcome were analysed according to presence of risk factors, amniotic fluid sludge, cervical length and gestation at pessary insertion.
RESULTS: At presentation, mean cervical length was 1.17 cm (range 0-2.33 cm), mean gestation at pessary insertion and delivery was 20.6 (12.9-26.1) weeks
