With the growth of aging society, China has become the country of population with the highest incidence of diabetes in the world. Diabetes leads to pathological changes in vascular and nervous system, rendering the diabetic skin fragile and hard to heal if wounded; in the end most diabetic wounds tend to become chronic skin ulcers. The refractory diabetic wound is the result of various endogenous and exogenous factors. It is a quite complicated pathophysiologic event which lacks an effective and specific therapeutic method in clinic. The use of stem cells could be a new approach of treating di

Induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) are derived from somatic cells. These somatic cells have had their gene expression experimentally reprogrammed to an embryonic stem cell-like pluripotent state, gaining the capacity to differentiate various cell types in the three embryonic germ layers. Thus, iPSC technology makes it possible to obtain neuronal cells from any human cells. iPSC can be generated from various kinds of somatic cells and from patients with neurodegenerative diseases. Disease modelling using iPSC technology would elucidate the pathogenesis of such diseases and contribute to rela

Mouse embryonic stem cells have been shown to differentiate into a variety of tissues in vitro and in transplantation experiments can produce many different cell types. Multipotent stem cells in adult humans have also shown a high degree of plasticity: haemopoietic stem cells, for example, have been shown to contribute to several other tissues, such as liver. From these simple observations there has been considerable extrapolation into the use of such putative totipotent stem cells in the clinical setting, with the development of 'designer' tissue engineering, whose aim is to create large tiss

Spermatogonial stem cells (SSCs) are a small group of testicular cells located in the basement membrane of seminiferous tubules and can balance self-renewal and differentiation during spermatogenesis. Our in vitro culture experiments of mouse SSCs indicated heterogeneity of cultured cells. Highly compact colonies were observed next to SSC colonies, which we call clump cells. We used immunocytochemical staining to identify SSCs and somatic cells with VASA and Vimentin antibodies. Subsequently, we compared mRNA expression levels of VASA, DAZL, PLZF, GFRA1, Lin28, Kit, Myc and Vimentin genes usin

Oral stem cell Исследование encompasses the study of dental pulp stem cells, periodontal ligament stem cells, regeneration of dental pulp and periodontal ligament, and therapeutic approaches for dental caries. Dental pulp stem cells, located in the oral cavity, have been applied to tooth, alveolar bone, and periodontal tissue regeneration and are anticipated to exert systemic therapeutic effects. Global efforts to identify biomarkers of oral disease have employed expression proteome analysis. However, because most proteins function only after undergoing post-translational modifications, methods ba

Combination antiretroviral therapy (cART) suppresses HIV in most patients, but it cannot cure HIV infection. The main challenge to a cure is the presence of latent replication-competent HIV in resting CD4+ T cells in blood and tissues, which reignite infection after cART removal. The long half-life of this reservoir is a major barrier to a cure, and its elimination is a main goal of current HIV Исследование. Animal models that recapitulate HIV latency can provide key insights into the establishment of HIV latency and, more importantly, enable the testing of HIV eradication strategies. We describe

Hearing loss is the most widely spread sensory disorder in our society. In the majority of cases, it is caused by the loss or malfunctioning of cells in the cochlea: the mechanosensory hair cells, which act as primary sound receptors, and the connecting auditory neurons of the spiral ganglion, which relay the signal to upper brain centers. In contrast to other vertebrates, where damage to the hearing organ can be repaired through the activity of resident cells, acting as tissue progenitors, in mammals, sensory cell damage or loss is irreversible. The understanding of gene and cellular function

BK virus infection is one of the common complications after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation(HSCT), which is also one of the reasons of the hemorrhagic cystitis. In recent years, although there are more studies of the risk factors related with human BK virus infection after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, the risk factors related with BKV-associated hemorrhagio cystitis(BKV-HC) remain to be elucidated. Diagnosis of BK virus infection is mainly based on quantitative PCR of blood or urine. An effective strategy for treatment of these patients is the adoptive transfer of T lymphocy

Glaucoma is a typical irreversible blind neurodegenerative disease for which there is no effective treatment for halting visual deterioration. The recent development of neural stem cells studies sheds light on a potential resolution for this disease. As a result, an appropriate glaucoma modeling method for stem cell transplantation study is needed. In the present study, Dexamethasone was injected unilaterally into the conjunctiva of New Zealand rabbit at the dose of 2.5 mg (5 mg/mL), three times a week. After eight weeks, the eye ground photography showed that the optic nerve head of the treat

Stem cell (SC) Исследование plays a central role in disease modeling and regenerative medicine, yet its clinical translation remains challenged by biological heterogeneity, incomplete cellular maturation, stringent quality-control requirements, and increasingly complex biological and clinical data. Machine learning (ML) has emerged as a powerful computational approach for extracting biologically meaningful information from these data, enabling quantitative characterization of SC behavior and predictive modeling across diverse experimental and translational applications. This review presents a unif

Graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) remains a severe complication after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, and effective treatment options remain limited, particularly for patients with steroid-refractory GVHD or failure of multiple lines of therapy. Mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) therapy has shown promise for the prevention and treatment of GVHD because of the low immunogenicity and immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, and tissue-reparative properties of MSC. To date, MSC-based products have been approved for the treatment of acute GVHD (aGVHD) in several countries, including China

Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is among the most aggressive brain cancers, and it contains glioma stem cells (GSCs) that drive tumor initiation, progression, and recurrence. These cells resist conventional therapies, contributing to high recurrence rates in GBM patients. Developing in vitro models that mimic the tumor microenvironment (TME), particularly the GSC niche, is crucial for understanding GBM growth and therapeutic resistance. Three-dimensional (3D) spheroid models provide a more physiologically relevant approach than traditional two-dimensional (2D) cultures, recapitulating key tumor

In recent years, with the problem of aging population in China being prominant, the number of patients with chronic wounds such as diabetic foot, pressure ulcer, and vascular ulcer is increasing. Those diseases seriously affect the life quality of patients and increase the economy and care burden of the patients' family, which have been one of the most urgent clinical problems. Many Исследованиеes have confirmed that adipose stem cells can effectively promote wound healing, while exogenous protease is needed, and there are ethical and many other problems, which limit the clinical application of ad

With an incidence of 1/800 - 1/600, Down syndrome (DS) is the most common chromosomal disorder in humans. Whilst most DS patients has trisomy 21, a small proportion may carry translocations or mosaicisms involving chromosome 21. The main characteristics of DS include mental retardation, peculiar facies, growth retardation, congenital heart disease, duodenal stenosis, Alzheimer's disease, leukemia, and immunodeficiency, which may be due to increased dosage of critical genes. Recent studies also showed that epigenetic changes may also occur in DS. For Исследование on patients with DS or other trisom
