INTRODUCTION: Globally, injury is a major cause of death and disability. Improvements in trauma care have been driven by trauma registries. The capacity of a trauma registry to inform improvements in the quality of trauma care is dependent upon the quality of data. The literature on data quality in disease registries is inconsistent and ambiguous; methods used for classifying, measuring, and improving data quality are not standardised. Spinal cord injury (SCI) affects 1.3 million North Americans, with more than half occurring after trauma. The diagnosis experience of the closed diaphragmatic injury (CDI) while an acute period in 42 injured persons was analysed. The roentgenological examination methods, in the injured persons with combined trauma in particular, were adduced. The informativity of roentgenological signs, including those examined in dynamics, was analysed. The indications and contraindications of the contrast gut examination, pneumoperitoneum, thoracoscopy for the CDI suspicion are substantiated. The methods of the security enhancement during the diagnostical pneumoperitoneum conduction are proposed.

While the French national hospital discharge database (PMSI) provides comprehensive nationwide data, it does not capture clinical parameters required for established severity scores such as TRISS, which is used for predicting in-hospital survival after trauma and necessary for implementing national-level evaluations of health system performance.
