STUDY DESIGN: This was a retrospective cohort study of 15,930 triplets who were delivered in the United States between 1995 and 1997. Sixty-six trichorionic triplet pregnancies reduced to twins were compared with 47 triplet pregnancies that were not reduced. The miscarriage rate was higher (7.6% compared with 2.6%) but the number delivering between 24 and 32 weeks was lower (8.2% compared with 24.0%). Since severe preterm delivery is associated with risks of neonatal death and severe handicap, embryo reduction of triplets to twins may not improve the chance of survival but may reduce the rate of handicap.

Nineteen sets of triplets were delivered in the National Maternity Hospital between January 1st 1980 and December 31st 1990 inclusive. Thirteen triplet pregnancies resulted from spontaneous ovulation and six from ovulation induction therapy for infertility. Management was conservative. 31 triplet pregnancies (DG), treated during 1975-1989, were analysed retrospectively. 13 DG (D10) were registered up to the end of the 10th week of pregnancy, 16 (DG) (D16) were intact between the 11th and the 16th gestational week. 3 DG resulted from the reduction of high grade multiple pregnancies. 18 DG (62%) of the initial 29 DG had previously been treated for sterility. Based on the outcome of 21 triplet pregnancies from Antoine Béclère Hospital, early diagnosis in the major requirement for improving rates of fetal survival in multiple pregnancies. The outcome was better in mothers with spontaneous ovulation than in those with induced ovulations. Elective cesarean section is proposed.

A series of 8 triplet sets during the year 1980 at the University Teaching Hospital, Lusaka, has been analysed. The incidence was 1:2980 hospital deliveries. Age or parity of the mother did not appear to have any influence on foetal survival, in contrast to the birth weight and foetal presentation at the time of delivery. First triplet baby seemed to have a better chance of survival as compared to second and third triplet babies. There was prepondence of female babies. The corrected perinatal mortality was 273/1000 live births which is significantly high.

INTRODUCTION: The myelodysplastic syndromes (MSD) are a group of hematologic disorders that manifest dysplastic hematopoiesis and usually a hypercellular bone marrow. Ineffective hematopoiesis leads to haematologic failure in these syndromes. The MDS are a rare event during pregnancy although the exact incidence is unknown it is likely to be less than that for leukaemia.
CLINICAL REPORT: The case, a 29 year old woman, presented during 23rd week of her first, triplet, pregnancy with symptoms of anemia and thrombocytopenia is described.

OBJECTIVE: Our purpose was to describe the total costs involved in the delivery, prenatal, and neonatal care for triplet pregnancies.
STUDY DESIGN: Twenty triplet pregnancies were born at our institution over the 1-year period between July 1, 1992, and June 30, 1993. Total charges for prenatal care, physician fees, antepartum admissions, delivery, postpartum inpatient and outpatient care, and neonatal inpatient and outpatient care were extracted from the hospital billing computers.
RESULTS: Our 20 triplet pregnancies were delivered of 54 live born infants at an average gestation of 30.2 week

The authors studied all cases of triplets who were born at the Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics of University Clinical Centre in Belgrade, over a twenty-year period (1970-1989). We assessed the association between prenatal smoking and respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) among triplets using a population-based retrospective cohort of 12,169 triplet live births in the United States between 1995 and 1997. A unique case of ALL in three monozygotic triplets diagnosed at the age of 24, 27 and 37 months is described. Archived bone marrow smears were available for molecular analysis of immunoglobulin heavy chain (IGH) and IGK genes and T-cell receptor (TCR)-delta and gamma gene rearrangements.
