Telangiectatic osteosarcoma (TOS) is a rare variant of osteosarcoma that typically affects young individuals and long bones. The case under discussion was seen in the mandible of a 57-year-old female and had rapidly grown in size within a week. Microscopically, the tumour was characterised by large vascular cavities surrounded by anaplastic cells. Thin lacy tumour osteoid was observed at various foci. Abundant multinucleated osteoclastic giant cells along with areas of necrosis were also noted. The tumour cells were positive for SATB2, while negative for Cytokeratin AE1/3, CD 34. Ki-67 positiv

OBJECTIVE: Mandibular osteoradionecrosis (MORN) is a morbid complication of head and neck radiation therapy. Recent advances in surgical and medical therapies underscore the need for a shift in traditional treatment paradigms and a disease grading system that can guide appropriate management.
DATA SOURCES: Pubmed/MEDLINE.
REVIEW METHODS: We conducted a detailed review of publications related to MORN, specifically focusing on its staging and management techniques. Articles meeting inclusion criteria were synthesized into a final narrative review.
CONCLUSION: There has been a paradigm shift a

Salivary gland neoplasms account for 3% of all head and neck tumours. Pleomorphic adenoma (PA) is the most common salivary gland tumour that mainly occurs in the parotid gland, followed by minor salivary glands of the oral cavity, however, the occurrence of PA inside the jaw bones is exceedingly rare and very few cases have been reported in the literature. Inside jaw bones these lesions tend to imitate large osteolytic lesions encompass a diagnostic challenge. An exhaustive review of the literature revealed only 10 cases of central pleomorphic adenoma. We present a rare case of primary PA that

Mandibular deviation and rotation following mandibulectomy can significantly impact oral function and quality of life. The postoperative course of a 57-year-old patient who underwent mandibulectomy for oral cancer and findings over 11 years of follow-up observation to monitor changes in the mandibular position are described here. Based on the observations, it is important to raise awareness regarding the necessity of continued monitoring of mandible position and regular adjustments of prostheses for patients who have undergone mandibulectomy.

BACKGROUND: Mandible tumors are very rare. One of the main methods of the treatments is resection of the tumor and then reconstruction of the mandible. The donor site is often distant tissue-fibula or ilium. Following this, it is necessary to improve the patient in two ways, on one hand restoring the function of the mandible, and on the other hand, improving the donor site area. For that reason, physiotherapy after tumor resection and reconstruction of the mandible is very complicated. The aim of this bibliographic review was to find the methods of the reconstruction of the mandible in the con

BACKGROUND: Ameloblastic fibro-dentinoma is considered a rare, benign, mixed odontogenic tumor that occurs mainly in the posterior mandible in the 1st-2nd decade of life. Although the clinical behavior of Ameloblastic fibro-dentinoma is similar to that of ameloblastic fibroma, there is a debate about whether Ameloblastic fibro-dentinoma is a developing hamartomatous odontoma or a separate neoplastic odontogenic tumor like ameloblastic fibroma. However, it is important to understand the histopathogenesis of this rare tumor.

Ameloblastic fibro-odontoma (AFO) is a rare, gnathic, benign, mixed odontogenic tumor that commonly presents in the first or second decade of life as a unilocular and rarely multilocular radiolucency with variable amounts of calcified material. Tumor progression is typically indolent, and generally accepted treatment is surgical enucleation and curettage. This case report describes an atypical presentation in a 14-year-old male with a multilocular, aggressive AFO requiring hemimandibulectomy with immediate osseous and dental "Jaw-in-a-Day" reconstruction. This report highlights the debate rega

Introduction: Ameloblastic fibro-odontoma (AFO) is a benign odontogentic tumor without an aggressive behavior, unlike the similar ameloblastic fibroma. Case Presentation: A 9-year-old boy, with tooth eruption failure, underwent enucleation and curettage of a well-defined variable radiolucent and radio-opaque right mandible lesion. There was odontogenic epithelium with peripheral palisading in a loose myxoid stroma as well as a disorganized component of dentin, enamel, and cementum, features of an AFO. Conclusion: AFO is an odontogenic mixed tumor of epithelium and mesenchyme.

Cemento-ossifying fibromas (COFs) are benign fibro-osseous tumors usually found in the mandible and maxilla that can show malignancy in rare situations. COFs usually grow slowly and asymptomatically until they produce local bulges, pain, headaches, and visual impairment, and have a Ki-67 index within 3%, even in aggressive and recurrent cases. Surgical resection can usually provide a satisfactory prognosis. However, no cases of COF transforming into osteosarcoma have been reported. We present a case of COF involving a 58-year-old woman whose initial symptom was hearing loss in the right ear ac

BACKGROUND: Odontomas are the most common benign odontogenic tumors (especially in children and adolescents) and consist of odontogenic ectomesenchyma and odontogenic epithelium with the formation of dental hard tissues. They are also simply considered hamartomas. The WHO Classification defines them as complex and compound odontomas. The diagnosis is often occasional, in conjunction with x-ray routine examinations, or it is suggested by eruption disorders or abnormal position of teeth in the dental arch. The mainstay therapy is surgical excision of the lesion followed by orthodontic treatment

INTRODUCTION: Ameloblastic fibro-odontosarcoma is an extremely rare subtype of odontogenic sarcoma, with only 13 cases reported in the literature.
CASE REPORT: A 4-year-old male presented with a painless mandibular swelling, which appeared 4months previously. Cone beam computed tomography revealed an extensive, ill-circumscribed, multilocular radiolucency of the right mandible extending from the first deciduous molar to the ramus with slightly dense opacities. Histological examination of the incisional biopsy specimen revealed a biphasic tumor with sarcomatous mesenchyme and benign ameloblast

Calcifying cystic odontogenic tumor, which was formerly named calcifying odontogenic cyst, is a benign odontogenic tumor containing clusters of ghost cells within ameloblastic epithelium. Calcifying cystic odontogenic tumors have been associated with other odontogenic tumors, a finding that is a rare event in other types of odontogenic cysts or tumors. This report describes a case of hybrid odontogenic tumor composed of calcifying cystic odontogenic tumor and ameloblastic fibroma-odontoma of the anterior mandible that occurred in a 4-year-old Korean girl.

Odontomas represent a hamartomatous malformation. They are usually asymptomatic and are diagnosed on routine radiological examination .The eruption and infection of odontoma are uncommon. Till now, only 20 cases of erupted odontoma are reported in the literature. We report an unusual case of infected complex odontoma with eruption of odontoma in the oral cavity and perforation of the cheeks with a tooth impacted upon which makes the presentation unusual that has not been reported earlier. The dentist should be familiar with common and unusual appearance of odontoma for proper diagnosis and man

We present a case of a 10-year-old girl with neurofibromatosis type 1 related skeletal dysplasia. In the present case, a unilocular radiolucency at the left coronoid notch visible on a panoramic radiograph was suspected to be a neurofibroma. However, only the presence of bone deformities was observed on CT. Fat-like tissue adjacent to the bone deformities inside the left mandibular ramus was revealed, and the presence of neurofibroma was unequivocally denied on the MR images. However, biopsy of the lesion suggested neurofibroma. The diagnostic imaging 18 months after the first visit did not re

Osteomas are benign tumours of bone. They are uncommon in the jaws and usually present because of facial asymmetry or trismus. Osteomas arising from the lingual aspect of the mandibular ramus are rare and asymptomatic, usually discovered on routine radiography. We present two cases, and discuss their aetiology, presentation and management.

Solitary myofibroma of adults is an uncommon neoplasm that typically arises in soft tissue and subcutaneous sites in the head and neck, but rarely within bone. When encountered in the jaws, the lesions exhibit clinical and radiographic features suggestive of an odontogenic tumor or cyst as well as several other neoplastic conditions. Tooth mobility, displacement of teeth, and dramatic jaw expansion may be observed. Analogous to other sites of involvement, gnathic myofibromas are biologically indolent and show little or no recurrence following excision. In rare instances, however, the ability t
