A case of carcinoid tumor associated with adenocarcinoma arising in the prostate was studied. The results confirmed the presence of argentaffin cells. The significance of their presence and relationship to functional adenocarcinoma of the prostate are discussed.

Bilateral synchronous transitional ureteral carcinoma has previously been reported only 11 times. Herein, two additional cases are reported. Analysis shows these tumors to be of relatively low grade and low stage. It is necessary to fully evaluate the opposite side in a patient presenting with unilateral ureteral tumor. If bilateral disease is present, a conservative surgical procedure should be done.

Two cases of juvenile gastrointestinal polyposis are described and the literature is reviewed. Despite the benign nature of the individual polyps, the disease has a poor prognosis. Of 13 reported patients, 4 had macrocephaly, and one of the authors' 2 patients had large peripheral intracranial cysts. This appears to be the first reported documentation of the etiology of macrocephaly associated with juvenile polyposis. Major clinical problems are related to severe loss of blood and protein from the gastrointestinal tract.

Although neoplasms are unusually frequent in patients with ataxia-telangiectasia, the occurrence of primary tumors of the ovary in such patients is exceedingly rare. Lobular carcinoma may arise within the epithelial component of fibroadenoma of the breast, as evidenced by 5 cases reported from the files of the Mayo Clinic and 21 cases cited in the literature. The 5 cases reported here occurred in a series of 4000 cases of fibroadenoma during a 43-year period. Myxopapillary ependymomas are low grade neoplasms, which originate mostly from the medullary conus, cauda equina and the filum terminale. To date the principal treatment is surgical, total- or subtotal removal (GTR or STR), which can be associated with adjuvant radiotherapy. We report a patient with two tumor locations, one larger tumor at the L3 to S1 level and a smaller S2-S3 localized lesion. The patient was treated successfully with a combined approach of GTR of L3-S1 lesion and radiosurgical treatment of S2-S3 lesion.
