We hypothesized that T2DM vasculopathy can be revealed and quantified in the bulbar conjunctiva prior to its pathologic presentation in the retina. Thirty-two patients with presumed choroidal nevi were examined and photographed in both white and green light. Twenty-one lesions disappeared or became markedly attenuated when viewed with green light. The remaining 11 lesions did not disappear when viewed with green light. Many of these nevi demonstrated visual field defects and fluorescein angiographic abnormalities. The clinical applications of green light ophthalmoscopy and photography are discussed.

Foreign bodies adherent to the hard palate often mimic oral lesions. Case report: A 10-month-old female infant presented with the sudden development of a hard palate lesion. With photography and visualization, the "lesion" was a false nail, which belonged to the child's caregiver. Discussion/conclusion: The differential diagnosis of palatal lesions in infants should include foreign bodies, and if identified as such, evaluation under anesthesia may be avoided.

Three-dimensional (3D) surface imaging has found its place in aesthetic surgery globally. The first attempt to use 3D surface imaging technique in clinic was in 1944 by Thalmaan, who used stereo photogrammetry to examine an adult with facial asymmetry and a baby with Pierre Robin syndrome. Three-dimensional photography is becoming more common allowing for a more dynamic facial evaluation, although it is associated with increased cost.

Utilizing the techniques of biostereometric photography and current state-of-the-art computergraphics, topographic contourgrams have been generated in a series of patients with complex craniofacial malformations. These contourgrams are considered useful in diagnosis and treatment planning and as an aid in postoperative follow-up. We hope that the technique will provide a means to study longitudinal growth in unoperated and operated patients with craniofacial malformations. Comparisons between these groups and normal patients are currently being investigated.
