The current study aimed to evaluate the role of cannabinoid receptors in the regulation of gastric acid secretion and oxidative stress in gastric mucosa. To fulfill this aim, gastric acid secretion stimulated with histamine (5 mg/kg, subcutaneous [SC]), 2-deoxy- d-glucose (D-G) (200 mg/kg, intravenous) or -carbachol (4 μg/kg, SC) in the 4-hour pylorus-ligated rats. Cerebral infarction is a well-documented complication of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), that usually occurs several years after the diagnosis of SLE. To our knowledge, however, strokes associated with vertebrobasilar artery involvement were not reported to present as an initial manifestation of SLE. Progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML) is an uncommon opportunistic infection that causes focal or multifocal demyelination predominantly in the subcortical white matter. We report the case of a 42-year-old female with neurosarcoidosis who was hospitalized in year 2017 for gait disturbance. In 2011, she suddenly had vertigo that lasted for a few days. PURPOSE: Our aim was to investigate the [(1)H] MR spectroscopy (MRS) findings of Lafora Disease (LD), which is a disabling form of progressive myoclonic epilepsy.
METHODS: Twelve patients diagnosed with LD and 12 control subjects underwent MRS studies with single-voxels of 8 cc obtained in the frontal lobe, pons, and cerebellum.
