Vaccine development for COVID-19 has progressed expeditiously. To date, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has authorized the Moderna/mRNA-1273, Pfizer-BioNTech (BNT162b2), and Johnson & Johnson's Janssen (JNJ-78436735) vaccines for use in the United States. Immediate side effects have included myalgia fatigue, chills, fever, and headache. We report an elderly patient with a history of lung cancer and no prior history of autoimmune disease who developed cutaneous lupus erythematosus two ½ months after the second dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine.

After using trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole (TMP-SMX) to treat a pilonidal cyst diagnosed seven days prior to presentation, the patient began to have desquamating lesions on his upper and lower lips. Subsequently, he noticed desquamation on the glans penis and then between his buttocks. Before being referred to dermatology, he was treated with a high dosage of corticosteroids.

A rare case of congenital supernumerary teeth, also known as hyperdontia, observed in a healthy 8-month-old female ewe is presented. The congenital defect consisted of the presence of 2 incisor teeth embedded in the lateral areas of the dental pad. The authors review pulmonary effects achieved for 3 years in hemoblastosis patients subjected to artificial lung ventilation (ALV). Out of 44 patients treated the response to ALV was obtained in 7 (16%). Prior to ALV, two of them had granulocyte count under 0.5 x 10(-9)/1. ALV was discontinued in them after recovery of normal granulocyte count. Three patients (7%) survived 6 months and longer. Problems of differential diagnosis in different variants of acute respiratory failure in hemoblastosis patients and ALV potentialities are discussed.

Antibodies to mumps virus were detected in 63.5% of saliva samples from mumps patients. The secretory antibody response was of primary type. Specific IgM antibodies were found in some samples collected early after the onset of disease. Specific IgA were detected in later obtained samples.
