BACKGROUND: In spite of clear transplants the results of keratoplasty are often disappointing. We looked for possible reasons for these failures.
PATIENTS AND METHODS: We analyzed in 204 eyes of 115 patients the factors influencing the prognosis. Our results are based on medical records and on demanded reports of the treating ophthalmologists. Pancreatic cancer is projected to become the second leading cause of cancer death by 2030 with a dismal 5-year survival rate compared to other cancers (12%). OBJECTIVES: To review the clinical features of nephrogenic adenoma (NA) of the urinary bladder and assess the long-term recurrence rates.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: A retrospective analysis of all diagnosed NA of the urinary bladder between 2000 and 2023 was done. All patients' demographics, symptoms, history of previous bladder surgeries, macroscopic and microscopic features of NA and coincidental pathology were reviewed. PURPOSE: To evaluate children and adolescents with primary mediastinal teratoma and malignant germ cell tumors (GCTs).
PATIENTS AND METHODS: Forty-seven patients from the German nontesticular GCT studies were analyzed (median age, 2.5 years; range, neonate to 17 years). Teratoma (n = 21) were resected, and no adjuvant treatment was given. Malignant GCTs (n = 26) were treated with cisplatin-based chemotherapy and resection.
