In 176 cases of primary musculo-skeletal tumors, the informative value of magnetic resonance (MR) imaging was compared with that of plain radiographic examination, angiography, scintigraphy, and computed tomography (CT). The information content of early bone changes in computed tomography (CT) of pyogenic non-tuberculous spondylitis and spinal tuberculosis is analysed. The CT findings are compared with conventional x-ray images including tomography. A 7-year-old spayed female Lurcher was evaluated for a chronic history of increased upper respiratory noise. Advanced imaging including digital radiography and pre- and post-contrast computed tomography (CT) scan confirmed the presence of an ill-defined soft tissue mineralized mass of the ventral larynx. Although extramedullary haemopoiesis (EMH) is relatively common in myelofibrosis, it is seldom symptomatic and rarely involves the intestinal tract. We report a case in which perirectal infiltrate resulted in clinically symptomatic constipation. The barium enema showed tubular rectal narrowing with mucosal pleating. On computed tomography a poorly marginated soft tissue mass was shown to be replacing the perirectal fat.

Six cases of osteosarcoma, including medullary, parosteal, periosteal, and intracortical types, were studied by computed tomography (CT). In selected cases, CT provided additional preoperative information as to osseous size and soft-tissue extent. CT helped determine intramedullary involvement and specific sites of cortical destruction and thereby helped to plan the surgical approach to biopsy and the definitive excision.

A 12-year-old castrated male golden retriever was referred for evaluation of a palatal mass. Computed tomography identified a 2.7 × 2.0 × 1.5 cm soft tissue mass extending from the caudal aspect of the hard palate to the rostral soft palate. The swelling and collapse of responsive nanogels on a planar lipid bilayer are studied by means of mesoscopic computer simulations. INTRODUCTION: Leiomyosarcomas are one of the most common soft tissue sarcomas, usually seen in deep, soft tissues of the extremities and retroperitoneum. Leiomyosarcoma primarily involving the gastrointestinal tract is uncommon. We present here a rare case of gastric leiomyosarcoma revealed by a massive hematemesis in a young woman.
