OBJECTIVE: To assess reproductive function in male ankylosing spondylitis (AS) patients in comparison to healthy controls.
METHODS: Twenty AS patients were compared to 24 healthy male subjects with regard to demographic data, urological examination, testicular ultrasound (US), semen analysis, anti-sperm antibodies, and hormone profile. We report a case of diffuse systemic sclerosis (skin, joints, esophagus, and Raynaud's phenomenon) in a 41-year-old Caucasian male with a 15-year history of ankylosing spondylitis and an episode of severe myocarditis of unknown origin. His HLA type included both the B27 allele conferring susceptibility to ankylosing spondylitis and the B35, DRB1 11, and DQB1 03 described as associated with systemic sclerosis. This case-report confirms that two inflammatory joint diseases may co-exist, particularly in patients carrying one or two susceptibility alleles to both diseases.

We report the first case of regional migratory osteoporosis (RMO) in a patient with ankylosing spondylitis (AS). OBJECTIVE: To systemically evaluate MR imaging features of tuberculous spondylitis and to find features that may help differentiating tuberculosis from other spinal diseases.
MATERIAL AND METHOD: Retrospective review of 65 MR imaging of two groups of patients between January 2002 and December 2005. Thirty-one patients were diagnosed as tuberculosis spondylitis and the rest were a randomly selected group of 34 patients with other spinal diseases.
