Dysuria, defined as pain, burning, or discomfort on urination, is more common in women than in men. Although urinary tract infection is the most frequent cause of dysuria, empiric treatment with antibiotics is not always appropriate. Dysuria occurs more often in younger women, probably because of their greater frequency of sexual activity. Older men are more likely to have dysuria because of an increased incidence of prostatic hyperplasia with accompanying inflammation and infection. The authors present their own experience about the colposcopic findings in the vagina after radical operative interventions, radiological or combined radiological and surgical treatment of carcinome of the genitals in women. On the basis of 902 checkups of such patients in whom there were 65 (7,20%) suspect colposcopic findings and 43 (4,76%) relapses the authors present detailed descriptions of the colposcopic patterns of relapses, that is, metastases and degenerative changes in the vagina after the above mentioned therapeutical procedures.

Primary vaginal melanoma is a rare malignant tumor. We review the clinical presentation and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) appearances of this entity in four patients. The MRI findings in vaginal melanoma are various and may be confused with other malignant vaginal tumor. Pelvic MRI is helpful for accurate preoperative staging of vaginal melanoma.

Cutaneous metastasis in vaginal cancer is an extremely rare event and no cases of cutaneous metastasis from primary vaginal adenocarcinoma have been found. We report the clinicopathologic features, including cytopathologic findings, of the first case of cutaneous metastasis to the anterior chest wall from a sporadic-type advanced primary vaginal adenocarcinoma. Our present case suggested that cytopathologic examination should be performed as soon as possible when a patient exhibits multiple subcutaneous nodules or a painful cutaneous ulcer during treatment of advanced gynecologic cancer.

Thirteen cases of female genital tract fibroepithelial polyps containing atypical stromal cells are described, eight arising from the vulva, a site of origin not previously reported. These tumours must be differentiated from sarcoma botryoides, which they resemble both grossly and microscopically. Although fibroepithelial polyps are benign, two of our cases recurred after incomplete excision.
