The authors report three cases of antenatally diagnosed polycystic renal dysplasia (PRD) associated with homolateral anomalies of the ureter and vas deferens requiring surgical exploration. The antenatal and postnatal diagnosis of polycystic renal dysplasia is based on ultrasound. It is recommended to look for associated vesicoureteric reflux by retrograde cystography. Iatrogenic obstruction of the spermatic duct or iatrogenic occulusive azospermia, in a wider context, is more frequently diagnosed today than it used to be in the past. This is attributable to general improvement of the system of andrological care. Hints are given on avoidance of that lesion by surgical tactics as well as on provisional treatment and on compulsory notification of injuries that occurred to the spermatic duct. Very young, middle-aged and old macrofilariae of Onchocerca volvulus were isolated alive or intact from onchocercomata using the collagenase digestion technique and studied by transmission electron microscopy. The body wall and the internal organs showed a well preserved morphology and no differences were detected compared with worms which had not been in contact with collagenase solution.

Three instances of invasion of nerves of the spermatic cord by benign proliferative ductules of the vas deferens following vasectomy are reported. This phenomenon occurred in association with the histopathological features of vasitis nodosa and was noted in tissue removed during vasovasostomy in two cases and from a painful lower inguinal nodule at the site of vasectomy in a third example. The Authors refer about their investigation of the azoospermias with surgical exploration of the spermatic cord and testis with deferento-vesiculography (DVG). Thirty-three patients were examined with DVG from a total of 50 observations. The Authors conclude that such investigation, associated to the study of others parameters in the male sterility, reveals itself very useful to provide information about azoospermias. Therefore, while testicular biopsy informs on the histomorfologic aspect of the testis, the DVG provides the best investigation of the morphology of the seminal ducts.

Laparoscopy has become a preferred technique to evaluate a nonpalpable testis. It gives excellent visualization of the anatomy to differentiate a viable or absent testis. We present a case of an intra-abdominal testis that was missed on diagnostic laparoscopy. Despite a closed processus vaginalis, an absent vas deferens, and blind-ending vessels above the internal ring, the testis was missed.

Surgery is the gold standard of hydrocele treatment; it is indicated in case of functional disorders. The two principal techniques are Lord's plication procedure, and excision. Main complications consist in potential haematoma and injury to epididymis, vas deferens or cord structures. Two other techniques exist, but with limited indications: fenestration which puts in contact the sac with lymph-rich subcutaneous tissues, and sclerotherapy.
