Skin lesions in a post-radiated breast should always be considered as possible angiosarcoma even if they mimic a traumatic lesion. Early detection by excisional biopsy followed by a mastectomy is necessary because of the high numbers of relapse if locally treated and possible deadly metastasis. We present a case of a cutaneous angiosarcoma occurred at lumpectomy site in a patient with a history of breast cancer and radiation of the breast and provide a review of the literature.

In this article, we describe a woman diagnosed as being a BRCA1 mutation carrier at 32 years of age and a BRCA2 mutation carrier diagnosed at age 63 who each opted for MRI screening instead of a preventive mastectomy. Breast ulceration is an alarming sign for clinicians and places a significant physical and psychological burden on the patient. We report a rare presentation of pyoderma gangrenosum of the breast in a patient known to have ulcerative colitis but no active underlying disease process and no history of breast tissue trauma. This case report with literature review highlights the importance of considering pyoderma gangrenosum as a differential diagnosis in breast ulcers.
