INTRODUCTION: Benign tumors account for 64-68 % of orbital tumors, with a wide variety of etiologies. The indication for surgical resection of a benign tumor is not systematic and depends mainly on the functional and esthetic clinical consequences. Surgical management presents risk of serious complications which can lead to major functional disorders and even blindness. The aim of this review is to identify the potential predictive factors of complications in benign orbital tumor surgery and assist therapeutic decision-making.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: A systematic review was performed, by search

PURPOSE: To examine the long-term performance of bonded all-ceramic restorations, specifically veneers, in patients with amelogenesis imperfecta (AI). There are few studies of long-term outcomes using a minimally invasive procedure in these patients. This aspect is essential when treating young patients. All-ceramic restorations, especially veneers, offer a more tissue-preserving treatment but rely on successful bonding. However, due to the defect enamel in AI patients, the bond strength is lower.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: A retrospective evaluation of 40 subjects with AI (26 women, 14 men) was

BACKGROUND: Several minimal access approaches to the thyroid gland have been widely applied; nevertheless, such approaches are still challenging when dealing with large-sized thyroid nodules or goiters. We hereby evaluated the outcomes and highlighted the merits of endoscopic axillo-breast hemithyroidectomy (EABH) for large-sized unilateral goiters.
METHODS: Patients underwent EABH for unilateral large thyroid nodules ≥6 cm in its greatest dimension or unilateral large goiter (≥60 ml sonographic volume) whatever the size of its contained nodules were identified from a prospectively maintained

RATIONALE: Orthognathic surgery cases are inherently challenging to treat with lingual appliances due to the complexities of orthodontic management and difficulties in achieving intermaxillary fixation during surgery. This challenge is further amplified in cases involving asymmetric space closure, such as those with a missing molar on one side and a premolar on the other, a scenario not yet documented in the literature. This case report presents the orthodontic-orthognathic management of an adult patient requiring space closure of asymmetric missing lower teeth.

INTRODUCTION AND IMPORTANCE: Basal cell carcinoma is a common form of skin cancer whose global incidence is rising rapidly, with over 70 % of locations on the face. In contrast to their low mortality, their morbidity is high. Extensive basal cell carcinomas and infiltrative lesions are associated with a high recurrence rate, which can result a serious esthetic and functional damage.
CASE PRESENTATION: We report the case of a 65-year-old female patient, who consulted our ENT department for a large ulcerating lesion of the nasal pyramid. CT scan revealed a lesion of the nasal pyramid measuring

BACKGROUND: Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) is one of the most common RASopathies predisposing affected patients to melanic lesions and benign tumors. NF1 is associated with considerable esthetic and functional burden negatively affecting the patient's quality of life (QoL). This study aims to assess the clinical features of NF1 patients and evaluate their impact on QoL. We identified NF1 patients from a public health database of a region in Spain. All patients underwent clinical and ophthalmological evaluation for NF1 features. We measured QoL using the Spanish version of the Skindex-29.

Late secondary reconstruction is sometimes required in patients with suboptimal primary panfacial fracture repair. At this stage, it can be difficult to discern original facial architecture due to malunion and bony remodeling. By utilizing the original postinjury CT scan to complete fracture reduction in the virtual reality (VR) planning environment, the surgeon may attempt to recreate an "ideal" facial bony anatomy for patients. This technique was completed in 2 patients presenting with facial deformity secondary to malunited panfacial fracture. Each had a cone-beam CT (CBCT) scan taken at pr

BACKGROUND The restoration of endodontically treated teeth (ETT) and severely damaged teeth has been a concern of clinicians. Glass Fiber Post (GFPs) combine the strength of carbon fiber posts with the esthetic appearance of glass to resemble natural dentin during dental restoration procedures. This radiographical study assessed the GFP carried out by students enrolled in the Clinical Comprehensive Course at the College of Dentistry, Jazan University. MATERIAL AND METHODS A total of 32 patients treated by 18 6th-year dental students with 121 GFPs were assessed in this cross-sectional radiograp
