Light-at-night (LAN) is a worldwide problem co-distributed with breast cancer prevalence. Co-existence of angiomyolipoma (AML) and renal cell carcinoma (RCC) in the same tumor mass is very rare and only eight cases have been reported. We present a case of a young female with tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) with bilateral huge renal AMLs. Both tumors were removed, one of which revealed co-incidental RCC. She was subsequently successfully transplanted a kidney from her brother and is maintaining normal graft function eight months post-transplant. No recurrence or metastases of RCC has been detected till the last follow-up.

Although oncolytic virotherapy is a promising anticancer therapy, antitumor efficacy is hampered by low tumor selectivity. This article reviews common methods of reconstructive surgery in patients with wounds that involve the scalp, including primary wound repair, healing by secondary intention, and the use of skin grafts, local tissue flaps, regional myocutaneous flaps, and microvascular free flaps. Special attention is paid toward consideration of aspects of the reconstruction that affect the aesthetic outcome, including preservation of the hairline and hair follicle orientation, scar camouflage, avoidance of alopecia, and secondary restoration of alopecia.

We present a case of ureterovesical stenosis that developed in 2 of 203 renal transplant patients operated between 1997 and 2005 in our department. In the current case, an ureterovesical region tumor was identified 1.5 years after renal transplantation, while being operated for the correction of ureterovesical stenosis. This report sought to remind physicians about the possibility of a malignancy in patients with ureterovesical stenosis following renal transplantation.

We studied the effect of the anticancer drug Ukrain on Lewis carcinoma in C57BL/6 mice. A marked progressive anticancer and antimetastatic effect was observed. On day 33 of tumor development, the tumor growth inhibition and metastases inhibition index were 71.5% and 73.1%, respectively. The antimetastatic effect of the drug manifested as a decrease in both number and volume of lung metastases. Secondary acute lymphocytic leukemias (ALL) are uncommon events in the pediatric patient population. There are few detailed reports on the laboratory characteristics and clinical course of patients with secondary lymphocytic leukemia. Historically, these patients have had a poor outcome. To provide investigative tools for the study of neuroblastoma (NB) biology and therapy, we have characterized five orthotopic (adrenal) human xenograft models of NB. Skin carcinoma is the commonest malignant complication of renal transplantation. We report the first case of a renal transplant recipient who presented with ileal obstruction as a consequence of squamous cell carcinoma metastases to the small intestine. This complication highlights the unusual presentation of malignancies associated with prolonged exposure to immunosuppression and the need for extra vigilance in such cases.
