Patients with panurethral and complex urethral strictures after failed urethral reconstruction due to strictures and hypospadias repair is a rare but challenging condition. We describe a technique of coronary sinus plasty used to treat an infant with compression of the left pulmonary vein between the descending aorta and a dilated coronary sinus related to a persistent vena cava. The left lower pulmonary vein stenosis was relieved by repositioning the floor of the coronary sinus more anteriorly, toward the mitral annulus. The potential role played by a persistent left superior vena cava in some cases of left pulmonary vein stenosis is discussed.

BACKGROUND: In addition to prosthetic rehabilitation, maxillary defects can also be surgically reconstructed. Soft-tissue reconstruction employs a radial forearm or latissimus dorsi muscle flap, while bony reconstruction can be achieved using a fibula, iliac crest, or scapular flap. INTRODUCTION: Postoperative recurrence is common following surgery in patients with epiblepharon and co-existing epicanthal folds. We report the results of using combined epicanthoplasty and modified Hotz's procedure techniques aimed at correcting the structural anomalies and improving surgical out-come.
METHODS: We performed combined epicanthoplasty and modified Hotz's procedure procedures on 5 patients (10 eyelids) between May 2007 and October 2008. The surgical procedures involved redraping the medial canthal skin folds using Uchida's method in 4 patients and Z-plasty in 1 patient.
