Twenty-three interpleural (Waterston) colon replacements of the esophagus are reported, 21 for esophageal atresia and 2 for corrosive strictures. A 62 year-old patient with therapy-refractory pouchitis after proctocolectomy for ulcerative colitis was admitted with hematochezia and abdominal discomfort.
