BACKGROUND: Pain is a common symptom among older adults in nursing home settings, affecting 30% to 80% of residents living with dementia. Pain is not assessed; the underlying cause is not identified, and treatment is not initiated for a large percentage of residents. Untreated or overtreated pain can lower quality of life, negatively impact function, impair sleep, and increase behavioral and psychological symptoms associated with dementia.
OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this National Institute of Aging-funded study is to use our theoretically based approach that includes the social ecological mode

Faecal incontinence is a common problem for patients who have suffered a stroke. However, patients arriving at a neurorehabilitation unit are often reluctant to disclose their problem, and transfer documentation is sometimes incomplete. Nurses need to be aware that this is a sensitive area for patients, which can adversely affect their rehabilitation progress. Nurses and other professional practitioners must work together as a team, as the impact of faecal incontinence can be highly distressing for patients, and can result in inefficient use of therapy time. This article examines how the rehab

BACKGROUND: Within the framework of competency-based medical education, determining whether new nurses are capable of making patient care decisions independently is a critical issue in clinical nursing education. However, there is a lack of in-depth exploration of clinical preceptor experiences related to entrustment decision-making in this context.
PURPOSE: This study was designed to explore the experiences of nursing preceptors in terms of developing the confidence necessary in new nurses to make independent clinical decisions during the preceptorship process.

The purpose of this paper is to identify studies of hospital-based occupational stress prior to the COVID-19 pandemic that can offer lessons to nurse leaders in our current post-pandemic environment. A scoping review was conducted based on the Joanna Briggs Institute framework, including key phases and principles identified by Arksey and O'Malley. Evidence from different disciplines and settings has been relatively siloed. Nurses and doctors have tended to be studied separately using different constructs. Progress in developing more effective interventions to mitigate occupational stress in he

This study examines, using a randomised control trial, the question of the optimum base for exposure treatment with agoraphobic clients. The results have relevance for community psychiatric nurses and nurse behaviour therapists working with such problems and indeed for other behavioural practitioners. While the results confirm the already extensive evidence for the efficacy of exposure in vivo for agoraphobic clients, the results show that in general there is no difference between outcome of treatment delivered from the patient's own home and the out-patient clinic. There are, however, a small

Background/Objectives: Intranasal esketamine has emerged as an effective treatment for patients with treatment-resistant depression (TRD), providing rapid symptom relief when conventional antidepressant strategies fail. While its pharmacological efficacy has been demonstrated in randomized controlled trials, less attention has been paid to the organizational, relational, and multidisciplinary aspects that influence its real-world implementation and clinical effectiveness. While practical recommendations for intranasal esketamine services exist, an implementation-ready framework integrating psy
