OBJECTIVE: To study the clinical features, treatment and diagnosis of parapelvic cyst.
METHODS: Twenty-three patients of parapelvic cyst of the kidney were reviewed retrospectively. Fourteen cases (61%) complained of lumbar pain or discomfort, and 4 patients (17%) accompany hematuria and hypertension.
RESULTS: In 15 patients receiving surgery, 2 were treated by nephrectomy, one by radical nephrectomy for misdiagnosis. Postoperative diagnosis confirmed a cyst. Eight patients were treated conservatively for cyst being small and without clinical symptoms. Nineteen cases were followed up for 0.5…

In parallel with increased clinical demand, less than optimal or so-called marginal kidney grafts are being used for transplantation. In addition to donor age, it appears that several factors may impact negatively on the quality of the graft. Most importantly, a more precise definition of the term 'marginal graft' is needed. The present review analyzes potential risk factors, suggests scoring systems for a more precise definition, and discusses potential treatment options to improve the quality of marginal grafts.

During the last 10 years we performed 92 renal transplantations in our Skopje hospital (Macedonia), using 22 cadaver donors and 70 living donors. We also performed 15 explanations from cadavers and seven kidneys were allocated to former Yugoslavia. Metastases of renal carcinoma (RC) to lymph nodes were revealed in 121 (18.1%) patients from 667 operated on RC subjects. The frequency of lymph node involvement increases with T: T1--7.5%, T2--10.8%, T3--21.5%, T4--53.3%. In 42 patients the metastases were found only morphologically. A 48-year-old male had autosomic dominant polycystic kidneys with dimensions, to the best of our knowledge, never previously reported; the right kidney weighed 15,100 g and measured 53 x 33 x 9cm and the left one 10.200 g and 46 x 21 x 7cm, with cysts measuring up to 14cm in diameter. Nephrectomy was done to control persistent hematuria and to relief disconfort caused by the large kidneys. The renal function is stable four years after transplantation.

OBJECTIVES: A case of bilateral ectopic pelvic kidney is presented whose clinical symptoms were hypogastric pain and cloudy urine. The few cases reported in the world medical literature are briefly reviewed.
METHODS: Patient evaluation included intravenous urography, selective right renal arteriography and transoperative left antegrade pyelography. A left nephrectomy was performed.

Over the past decade, the success rate of pediatric kidney transplantation has dramatically increased, based on improvements in histocompatibility testing, immunosuppressive management, and diagnosis and treatment of rejection.
