PURPOSE: The aim of our study was to explore the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on reported cancer cases in Bavaria, Germany, by comparing pre-pandemic (March 2019 to February 2020) and pandemic period (March 2020 to February 2021).

This article describes a newly recognized highly malignant neoplastic entity in young bearded dragons (Pogona vitticeps), gastric neuroendocrine carcinomas, which readily metastasize. Ten bearded dragons with histories of anorexia (8), vomiting (3), hyperglycemia (2), and anemia (3) were included in this study. Epitheloid hemangioendothelioma (EHE) is an uncommon angiocentric neoplasm of intermediate malignant potential. This tumor is frequently seen in the lungs and liver, but its presentation in the oral cavity is rare. In the oral cavity, gingival region is the common sites of occurrence. We report a rare case of epitheloid hemangioendothelioma in a 48-year-old male, presenting as a growth in the upper anterior gingiva of five months duration along with a review of its clinicopathological and immunohistochemical characteristics.

We present a patient of tuberous sclerosis complex with bilateral renal angiomyolipoma and hepatic angiomyolipoma with spontaneous retroperitoneal hemorrhage from right angiomyolipoma (Wunderlich's syndrome). Nephron preserving approach was tried but the right kidney could not be salvaged. Hepatic angiomyolipoma was managed conservatively. Wunderlich's syndrome has been found in around 10% of cases of renal angiomyolipomas. Hepatic Angiomyolipoma is a benign mesenchymal neoplasm of the liver which is rarely reported in literature.

An unusual case of eosinophilic infiltration of the proximal stomach with direct extension into the left hemidiaphragm, liver, and transverse colon is described. Because the lesion was unresectable, a trial of steroid therapy was begun, with an initially good clinical response. Subsequent extensive tumor necrosis and accompanying diaphragmatic perforation, autolysis of the left lower lung, and a chronic gastropleurocutaneous fistula led to death. This case underscores the aggressive nature which this "histologically benign" neoplasm can pursue.

Malignant rhabdoid tumor is an aggressive neoplasm commonly arising from the kidney during infancy and childhood. Extrarenal forms of this tumor are relatively rare and have been reported in several extrarenal sites including central nervous system, liver, bladder, vulva, and head and neck. A 48-yr-old white female with a 20-yr history of intrauterine device use presented with signs and symptoms suggestive of a disseminated neoplasm with a pelvic primary. A definitive diagnosis of disseminated actinomycosis was made on the basis of computed tomography-guided fine-needle aspiration of a liver lesion. Subsequent laparotomy revealed involvement of the endometrium and of the ovaries and uterine tubes bilaterally. This article indicates the usefulness of fine-needle aspiration in the diagnosis of actinomycosis in this case.

Two rare observations in which villous tumors affected the mucous membranes of the rectum and transverse colon are described. In one case the lesions extended for 60 cm, in the other the neoplasm occupied the entire inner surface of the rectum and colon as well as the adjacent area of the ileum, whereas in the area of the liver and spleen bends there were areas of adenocarcinoma. Both observations were characterized by marked inflammatory infiltration in some parts of the villous tumor.

BACKGROUND: Primary liver teratoma is an extremely rare tumor usually affecting children under the age of 3 years. Specific signs of teratoma on ultrasound, computed tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance imaging are lacking, which makes morphology the only diagnostic tool. Misdiagnosis of a mature teratoma may lead to excessive liver resection, whereas misdiagnosis of an immature teratoma may result in spread, causing a life-threatening condition. Consequently, a careful tumor examination is important, and the rarest types of tumors must be accounted for.

BACKGROUND AND STUDY AIMS: Selective internal radiation therapy (SIRT) has shown good results in unresectable liver metastases from neuroendocrine neoplasms (NELM) with a high disease control rate (DCR) reported. The aims of the study is to assess retrospectively the efficacy and safety of 10y of SIRT for NELM.
PATIENTS AND METHODS: Primary endpoint was objective response rate (ORR) and DCR by RECIST 1.1 at 2, 4 and 12 months (m). Secondary endpoints were overall survival (OS), liver progressionfree survival (liver-PFS), clinical response (NEN-related symptoms improvement) and safety.

A 72-year-old woman with advanced ascending colon cancer and an intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm (IPMN) of the pancreatic head was treated by right hemicolectomy (RHC) and pylorus-preserving pancreaticoduodenectomy (PpPD). Adjuvant chemotherapy was not administered. Multimodal examinations at 5 months after surgery detected a solitary metastatic liver tumor derived from cancer of the ascending colon. Liver resection proceeded at 7 months after the first surgery. A pathological study of a surgical specimen of the liver identified a necrotic nodule that did not contain viable tumor cells.
