INTRODUCTION: Encapsulated peritoneal sclerosis (EPS) is a devastating complication of peritoneal dialysis. We aimed to investigate the effects of mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) treatment in experimental EPS in rats.

Multiple eccrine hidrocystomas are benign cystic skin lesions which originate from the sweat gland ducts and typically affect women's midfacial area. Sweating may lead to an increase in size of the translucent papules. In some cases hidrocystomas are associated with other diseases such as Parkinson's disease. Treatment options include laser, topical and systemic anticholinergic drugs (glycopyrrolate, clonidine, atropine, and oxybutynin), whereby therapeutic success is limited in most cases.

We report a rare case of left atrial myxoma with concomitant classical Hodgkin's lymphoma in a 36-year-old woman with a non-significant medical history and 4 months of progressively worsening palpitations, dyspnoea on exertion, chest discomfort and fatigue. Hybrid carcinomas are rare neoplasms which are characterized by two different types of tumors localized in a single topographic region of the lesion. Parotid gland is the most common involvement site of hybrid carcinomas among salivary glands. The aggressiveness of the hybrid tumor depends on its high-grade component. Pleomorphic adenoma (mixed tumor) is the most common type of salivary gland tumors, most often involving the parotid glands. The study presented a case of a giant pleomorphic adenoma of the submandibular gland in a 78-year old woman. Due to the initially slow and progressive growth (during a period of 25 years) without treatment, the tumor attained a size of 25×19×16 cm and a weight of 4 kg. The patient underwent surgery.
