Cucurbit chlorotic yellows virus (CCYV) of the genus Crinivirus and family Closteroviridae, is an emerging infectious agent transmitted by whiteflies that mainly infects cucumber, melon and watermelon plants. Here, we developed a procedure based on reverse transcription (RT) followed by loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) to detect CCYV in real-time by using a fluorescent dye and incubating at 65 °C. Decapitation resulting from hanging is an infrequent phenomenon, often influenced by multiple biomechanical factors. We report a case of a 72-year-old male who committed suicide by hanging, leading to complete decapitation. The drop height was approximately 10.668 m, with a static nylon rope of 9 mm thickness used as ligature material. We examined the presence of microplastics in blue mussels Mytilus spp. from the intertidal zone of western Spitsbergen in Arctic Svalbard. The optical microscopy technique detected a total of 148 microplastics, with the highest concentration per mussel being 24 particles. Microplastics were found in 84% of the examined mussels. A modified Gundersen conjunctival flap combined with amniotic membrane to treat symptomatic bullous keratopathy and poor visual prognosis is described. We report the case of a persistent unsealed sclerotomy following intravitreous injection of triamcinolone through the pars plana using a 30-gauge needle. The injection was made for the treatment of diabetic macular edema. A 73-year-old woman with pseudoexfoliative glaucoma underwent phacoemulsification with flexible posterior chamber intraocular lens implantation. In twenty rabbits with completion of bone growth, the medial meniscus was replaced with an allograft meniscus that had been preserved at -80 degrees C for 6 to 14 days.
