A seven-year old female with primary megalencephaly and pseudopapilledema has been followed for over four consecutive years. Physical examinations of the patient and her family, funduscopic photography, and fluorescein angiography have failed to identify the etiology of her pseudopapilledema. Macrocephaly and pseudopapilledema have been seen in association in only one previous report to our knowledge. The importance of distinguishing pseudopapilledema from true papilledema in children with large heads is reviewed.

The healing of a de-epithelialized cornea was measured by serial standardized photography after treatment with different antibiotics. Histological studies were also performed. Low doses of bacitracin (500 units/mL), gentamicin sulfate (3 mg/mL), neomycin (3.5 mg/mL), and chloramphenicol (4 mg/mL) did not retard normal epithelial healing. However, higher doses of bacitracin (10,000 units/mL), gentamicin sulfate (10 mg/mL), and neomycin (8 mg/mL) significantly inhibited reepithelialization.

A completely new and different principle of 'wireless' endoscope is described. The 'contact endoscope' consists of two parts, a rod which is the optical element and a light recovery jacket. This endoscope utilizes the surrounding light, either daylight or artificial light. It allows endoscopic photography and cinematography with a magnificant of nearly five. For urethrocystoscopy it represents a safe introductory rod (mandrel) introduced under visual control. It can be used in kidney surgery for finding stones in calyxes.

This is a case report about a 62-year-old gentleman who presented at the Otolaryngology department with a rhinophyma. Rhinophyma is a swelling of the soft tissue of the nose due to sebaceous gland hypertrophy, lymphoedema and fibrosis. Photography of the patient's condition highlights not only the features of the disease but is useful when comparing the contours and shape of the nose after surgical excision. Images of a relatively large rhinophyma are useful not only for their visual but also their educational value.
