Words: the "drug" with the highest frequency of dispensing errors.

Effective communication is the key component of every patient-physician encounter and is essential for shared decision-making. "Words" are perhaps the most frequently dispensed "drug," while communication is the most frequently performed "procedure" in emergency medicine. Yet, communication skills are often learned by trial and error, as opposed to the methodical approach followed for teaching all other technical procedures. The case presented below highlights the importance of incorporating effective communication skills as tools for our daily practice.

What do male singers mean by modal and falsetto register? An investigation of the glottal voice source.

Closed quotient, maximum flow declination rate, peak-to-peak airflow amplitude, normalized amplitude quotient, and level difference between the two lowest source spectrum partials were determined, and systematic differences were found in all singers, regard

[Causes of disabling forms of tuberculous spondylitis].

To define the causes of disabling forms of tuberculous spondylitis, 218 patients with advanced complicated forms of tuberculosis of the vertebral column were examined. Their specific process was complicated by abscesses, fistulas, deformity, and instability of the affected portion of the vertebral column, and neurological disorders. Analysis of clinical findings has indicated that the main causes of complications are late diagnosis of the disease and general practitioners' poor special knowledge. Diagnostic errors may be also caused by a larger number of asymptomatic and atypical forms of tube
