OBJECTIVES: To review the maternal and fetal outcome of triplet, quadruplet and quintuplet gestations following ART, which were managed at a hospital over 11 years.
STUDY DESIGN: Retrospective chart review of 150 triplet, 27 quadruplet, and 6 quintuplet pregnancies between January 2001 and December 2011. 25 women aged 50-56 years with triplet pregnancies, were excluded due to lack of data. No prophylactic interventions were used.

OBJECTIVE: To report on a patient with a monochorionic triamnionic triplet pregnancy after IVF with donor oocytes.
DESIGN: Case report.
SETTING: Academic tertiary care hospital.
PATIENT(S): A 42-year-old woman who underwent IVF with donor oocytes.
INTERVENTION(S): After failed IVF attempts, the patient chose to undergo treatment with donor oocytes. Her 23-year-old oocyte donor underwent standard controlled ovarian hyperstimulation. Retrieved oocytes were fertilized in vitro, and two embryos were transferred at the blastocyst stage.

The photodynamic therapy involving saturation of triplet state of a photosensitizer by short high-energy light pulses was studied theoretically. The possibility of creating a uniform therapeutic dose distribution throughout a large tumor using both surface and interstitial irradiation is shown. Possible thickness of the treated tissue layer and the required duration of the PDT session are estimated.

BACKGROUND: Omphalocele-exstrophy-imperforate anus-spinal defects (OEIS) complex is a rare sporadic condition.
CASE: We identified an infant with major malformations resembling OEIS. He was the product of a 30-week triplet pregnancy conceived by in vitro fertilization (IVF) and evaluated by chorionic villi sampling (CVS). In this article, we review the possible pathogenetic mechanisms in this case, including IVF, multiple gestation, trauma to the uterus or uterine vessels following CVS, and placenta accreta.
CONCLUSIONS: We conclude that the cumulative effects of all or some of these factors

In a patient with polycystic ovarian disease, low-dose intravenous pulsatile gonadotropin-releasing hormone (5 mcg every hour) and no exogenous human chorionic gonadotropin induced multiple follicular development and elevated estrogen levels and resulted in a triplet pregnancy. Patients with polycystic ovarian disease may have a higher risk of complications and should be monitored more closely during ovulation induction with pulsatile gonadotropin-releasing hormone.

Carboxylation and decarboxylation are among the most ubiquitous processes in chromophoric dissolved organic matter (CDOM) transformation, occurring during humification, photooxidation, and microbial activity. However, their impacts on the formation of excited triplet-state CDOM (3CDOM*) remain poorly constrained. Using more than 20 model compounds representing common CDOM chromophores, we demonstrate that carboxylation enhances triplet quantum yields (Φ) by 1.1-69-fold relative to their parent compounds. Consistently, Φ values of CDOM isolates positively correlate with their carboxyl content.
