The sonochemical destruction of binary mixtures of chloroform and carbon tetrachloride in aqueous solution at 30 kHz has been studied. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is the most common foregut disorder, with 7% of Americans experiencing heartburn daily. An experience with examination and surgical treatment of 156 patients with angiodysplasia of lower extremities shows that the ultrasonic location and dopplerography are highly informative methods of diagnosis of this disease. OBJECTIVES: This study investigated whether ultrasonic microprobe (UMP) imaging was useful in judging the therapeutic effect of endoscopic variceal (EVL) on varices as well as assessing varices and surrounding vessels before and after EVL.

In 186 patients with obstructive jaundice admitted to the clinic for diagnosis of its cause, the ultrasound scanning with duodenoscopy was employed. The diagnostic value of secretin provoked abdominal ultrasound was studied on 34 patients with pancreas divisum and on 20 control subjects. The patients received a 1.0 unit/kg body weight dose of secretin.
