OBJECTIVE: The goals of treatment for hemifacial microsomia include horizontalization of occlusal plane and acquisition of facial symmetry. Although horizontalization of occlusal plane can be easily achieved, facial symmetry, particularly in relation to mandibular contour, can be difficult to attain. Soft tissue is generally reconstructed to correct facial asymmetry, and no studies have described correction of facial asymmetry through skeletal reconstruction.

Cardiac output was measured by a pulse contour method in reno-vascular hypertensive rats, deoxycorticosterone (DOC) hypertensive rats and normotensive control Wistar rats in the conscious state. BACKGROUND: Muscle MRI is of increasing importance for neuromuscular patients to detect changes in muscle volume, fat-infiltration, and edema. We developed a method for semi-automated segmentation of muscle MRI datasets.
METHODS: An active contour-evolution algorithm implemented within the ITK-SNAP software was used to segment T1-weighted MRI, and to quantify muscle volumes of neuromuscular patients (n = 65).

This study analyzed the effects of the unilateral removal and dissection of the masseter muscle on the facial growth of young rats. A total of 30 one-month-old Wistar rats were used. PURPOSE: The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the impact of bone relative electron density (rED) assignment on radiotherapy planning for the abdominal region.
METHODS: Twenty patients who received abdominal radiotherapy using MR-Linac and underwent magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tomography (CT) simulation were analyzed. The reference plan (RP) was established using both CT and MR image sets (RP_CT and RP_MRI). The RP_MRI utilized the bulk density method.
