This study reports the synthesis of novel neolignans-celecoxib hybrids and the evaluation of their biological activity. OBJECTIVE: To study pathologies, peri- and postmortal alterations as well as the general preservation state of an ancient Iranian salt mummy.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: Several mummified remains from two different time periods (1500-2500 BP) were found in the Chehrābād salt mine in Iran. Computed tomography was performed on Salt Man #4 (410-350 BC), the best preserved out of the six salt mummies (Siemens, Sensation 16; 512 × 512 matrix; 0.75-5 mm slice thickness, 240-mA tube current, 120-kV tube voltage, and 0.976-mm pixel size).

OBJECTIVE: To assess which fractures of the humeral diaphysis are prone to nonunion after functional bracing by analyzing patients that present for treatment of nonunion after brace treatment.
METHODS: Thirty-two patients treated operatively for a nonunion of the diaphyseal humerus after functional brace treatment were analyzed with respect to the location and the pattern of the original fracture. There were 21 women and 11 men with an average age of 53 years (range 23-84 years).

Replacing halide ions with nitrate ions to construct hybrid molecular ferroelectrics provides a new strategy for optimizing the properties of ferroelectric materials. In this work, an organic-inorganic hybrid ferroelectric crystal [3.2.2-H2dabcn]Rb(NO3)3 (1) is successfully synthesized by reacting the spherical molecule 1,5-diazabicyclic[3.2.2]nonane with RbNO3 in a 1:1 molar ratio in dilute nitric acid solution. The compound exhibits a phase transition above room temperature (317 K), accompanied by a pronounced step-like dielectric anomaly and reversible nonlinear optical switching behavior.
