To assess chemical toxicity, current high throughput screening (HTS) assays rely primarily on in vitro measurements using cultured cells. Ovarian insufficiency is a major long-term adverse event, following the administration of a myeloablative conditioning regimen, and occurring in >80% of children and adolescents receiving such treatment for malignant or non-malignant disease. The presence of cytomegalovirus (CMV) in semen was retrospectively evaluated in 178 cryopreserved semen samples obtained from 97 donors recruited by two sperm banks. For the first time we report on an intact and ongoing triplet pregnancy after intracytoplasmatic sperm injection of cryopreserved testicular sperm. Indication was azoospermia due to hypergonadotropic hypogonadism.
