PURPOSE: To discuss the role of choroidal drainage in the management of positive vitreous pressure during therapeutic keratoplasty for patients with perforated corneal ulcers.
METHODS: Over a 2-year period, 8 of 36 (22%) consecutive patients with therapeutic grafts presented with a shallow anterior chamber during or immediately after surgery. The patient described in this report had bilateral hydrosalpinx due to pregnancies in both fallopian tubes, treated by laparoscopic resection. Histologically, both fallopian tubes revealed intratubal occlusion by degenerated, partially calcified chorionic tissue. An incidental finding was an intraluminal papillary epithelial tumor in one of the fallopian tubes. The clinical significance and complications of asymptomatic tubal ectopic pregnancy and the pathogenesis and biologic behavior of papillary epithelial tumors of the fallopian tube are briefly discussed.

IAP marker was detected by radio-immunodiffusion in breast gross cyst fluid and in serum. No correlation was found between this antigen and cyst' cytological type, serum concentrations and acute phlogosis. In most cysts IAP was not valuable; on the other hand, high levels of glycoprotein were found only in the subgroup on relapsed class of apocrine cysts.

Pseudocyst of the auricle is a rare, asymptomatic cystic swelling of the auricle resulting from accumulation of yellow viscous fluid with unknown cause. We herein report 3 such patients in whom biochemical study of the aspirated fluid revealed markedly elevated activity of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) and a preponderance of LDH-4 and LDH-5. This paper describes the cytologic findings in a rare condition, Coats' disease, which was diagnosed from a sample of ocular aspirate in a 19-month-old boy. Lochial acid-base status was analyzed in 45 puerperants in whom the postpartum period ran an uncomplicated course or was complicated by endometritis. The normal course of the puerperium is associated with the development of metabolic acidosis in the uterine cavity, and this acidosis is completely compensated for at the expense of gas alkalosis. In slight endometritis metabolic acidosis augments, and grave endometritis is associated with the development of marked acidosis at the expense of the development of tissue hypoxia in the presence of metabolic acidosis.

80 breast cyst fluids (BCF) from 57 patients were divided by K+/Na+ ratio: 56 with ratio over 1 (type I) and 24 with ratio less than 1 (type II).
