Extensive research has documented that domestic economic inequality erodes social bonds and cohesion within nations. Yet, it remains unclear whether this inequality-driven fragmentation spills over to shape individuals' attitudes towards foreign entities. BACKGROUND: The present study aims to prospectively investigate possible biological and psychological factors present in college students who will go on to develop chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) following Infectious Mononucleosis (IM). Identification of risk factors predisposing patients towards developing CFS may help to understand the underlying mechanisms and ultimately prevent its occurrence. Polycystic ovary syndrome (POCS) represents the most common endocrinopathy among reproductive aged women. The prevalence is between 4% and 20% and the etiology is complex. Clinical characteristics encompass reproductive, metabolic, and psychologic features making the diagnosis and management challenging. PCOS often starts during adolescence. Early identification, education, and risk mitigating treatment can reduce impacts to patient's physical and mental health across their lifespan and improve quality-of-life.

This paper examines the important role of anniversary reactions in the psychological adjustment of seriously traumatized individuals. The clinical case study examines the impact of anniversary reactions on the posttraumatic symptoms and accommodation of a five-year-old boy. Unresolved conflict with the mother, an intense sense of guilt, and difficulty in self-identification were explored during subsequent sessions of psychoanalysis. The clinical significance of considering the possibility of anniversary reactions in children manifesting repetitive attempts of trauma mastering is discussed.

Psychosocial disorders frequently complicate sickle cell disease. Psychological problems include neurotic illness, personality changes and psychotic reactions. Social problems may relate to work, marital and financial difficulties. Patients' siblings, parents and significant others may also suffer from emotional disorders. The role of nonpsychiatric medical and para-medical personnel in the identification and management of the psychosocial complications of sickle cell disease was mentioned. We conducted latent profile analyses on community (n = 1663) and clinical (n = 575) samples to determine whether continuous scores of attachment anxiety and avoidance would lead to the identification of theoretically consistent and clinically useful profiles.
