Intra-arterial infusions of vasoactive intestinal polypeptide (VIP) were made in anaesthetized lambs in which activity of the reticulo-omasal orifice (ROO) was recorded manometrically and in conscious lambs in which activity of the reticulum, ROO and abomasum were recorded by electromyographic (EMG) techniques. 2. Intraarterial thrombolytic therapy can be life-saving in patients with vertebrobasilar occlusion. Thrombotic occlusions of the internal carotid artery or middle cerebral artery often result in disabling ischemic cerebral infarctions. We present a report of what we believe was an extremely rare case of hyperacute respiratory failure caused by first time exposure to cyclophosphamide in a 40-year-old woman with systemic lupus erythematosus. The patient was extensively evaluated for alternative etiologies with negative results. Treatment with methylprednisolone and high doses of human immunoglobulin resulted in gradual improvement of the patient's condition. We review the literature with regard to cyclophosphamide-induced lung toxicity.

In this paper, we summerized our experience with intraarterial high-dose adriamycin for thirteen patients with skeletal or soft tissue sarcoma. Eight patients had skeletal sarcoma and five had soft tissue sarcoma. BACKGROUND: Retinoblastoma (Rb) is the most common primary ocular malignancy of childhood. Left untreated, it is 100% fatal and carries a substantial risk of impaired vision and removal of one or both eyes.
