This study, using positron emission tomography, investigates the cortical activation generated by auditory stimulation in two congenitally blind cochlear implant users. In the patient with a relatively short history of deafness, activity increased in both auditory cortices and fell in the visual cortices. We have retrospectively assessed the charts of 166 patients who underwent rhinoplasties from March of 2005 to July of 2007, in the Plastic Surgery Department of the University of Torvergata Rome, Italy. From the operation chart of each patient, we filled out a form with the following details: access incisions to the nasal bone cartilage skeleton, maneuvers performed on the inferior lateral and superior cartilages, implants and/or grafts used, procedures made to the nasal base, types of osteotomies, and number of concomitant septoplasties. All the patients were operated under total anesthesia.

OBJECTIVE: To explore the clinical features and plastic treatment of Paget's disease of the scrotum and penis.
METHODS: We analyzed 11 cases of Paget's disease of the scrotum and penis treated from 1997 to 2007. Extended excision of the focus of infection was performed and the skin absence was repaired by free skin grafting, local random skin flap, and island skin flap.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the role of coordination mode on the generation of use-dependent plasticity (UDP) within the primary motor cortex (M1).
METHODS: Ten healthy volunteers performed brisk repetitive thumb movements for 30 min in the opposite direction to those evoked by transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) prior to training. Fifteen to 20 percent of patients with major facial trauma suffer vision-threatening injuries. Not only does the early identification and management of such ophthalmic insults frequently carry a better visual prognosis, but manipulations during facial fracture repair may exacerbate unrecognized eye trauma. Enteroplasty of the urinary tract was made in 224 patients (175 male and 49 female, age 21-72 years): enteroplasty of the ureter (n = 25), augmentation cystoplasty (n = 38), replacement of the urinary bladder after radical cystectomy for cancer (n = 161).
