To develop a vulvar cancer-specific quality of life (QOL) subscale to accompany the Functional Assessment of Cancer-General (FACT-G) questionnaire, semistructured interviews were performed with 15 patients treated for vulvar cancer (FIGO stage 0-3). Health related quality of life (HRQoL) is determined by both disease and non-disease related factors. Several studies have reported significant HRQoL impairment in GORD patients compared with the general population. Disease severity correlates strongly with HRQoL. Longitudinal data from 195 breast cancer survivors were used to identify factors affecting the level and rate of change in quality of life after completion of treatment. Women were interviewed up to four times at approximately yearly intervals using Kaplan and Bush's Quality of Well Being instrument (QWB).
