Direct and indirect composite resins have different forms of polymerization. Some materials require a post-cure system associating light and heat enhancing clinical properties. This study assessed the changes in color and surface roughness of three indirect composite resins after accelerated aging. Twelve specimens (15 x 2 mm) were obtained for each tested material. Subsequently, the first measurements for roughness tests and colorimetric spectrophotometry (CIE L*a*b* scale) were performed. Specimens were subject to accelerated aging for 384 hours. New measurements were then performed to evalu

BACKGROUND: White spot lesions (WSL) may appear on teeth during fixed orthodontic treatment. Professionally administered topical fluorides play a key role in preventing such lesions. However, the evidence for their long-term efficacy and patient-reported outcomes is limited.
OBJECTIVE: The primary objective was to evaluate the efficacy of topical fluorides (varnish vs. adhesive) in reducing the incidence of white spot lesions (WSLs) during and after 1 year of fixed orthodontic treatment. The secondary objectives were patient-related outcomes, including perception of WSLs and adverse effects o

BACKGROUND: A great deal of controversy exists regarding the reliability of capping the inflamed pulp. In particular, the use of calcium hydroxide as a capping agent has come into question. In this study, hard tissue barrier formation after inflamed pulps were capped directly or after partial pulpotomy was compared with calcium hydroxide or bonded resin and with no additional seal or an IRM surface seal. Seventy teeth in five dogs were used. Ten untreated teeth were used as negative controls. In 60 teeth, pulpal inflammation was induced by preparing a cavity close to the pulp and sealing a cot

BACKGROUND: Rehabilitation of endodontically treated teeth with large coronal destruction is still a clinical challenge. No established guidelines specify where a conventional crown with fiber-reinforced composite (FRC) post-and-resin core or an endocrown (EC) is indicated and which material or pulpal extension should be used.
OBJECTIVE: To provide evidence for restoring severely damaged maxillary first molar (MFM) by comparing the fracture and debonding resistance after being restored with the ceramic EC and the conventional zirconia crown and FRC post-and-resin core.
METHOD: Models of a MF
