Vulvar varicosities are generally not an indication for a caesarean section but in a rare case of severe vulvar varicosities, it would be a controversial issue whether to perform a caesarean section for fear they might rupture during a vaginal delivery. In this report, we present a case of unilateral müllerian and ovarian agenesis associated with pelvic kidney. The patient was a 27-year-old woman who complained of an inability to conceive. We performed a hysterosalpingogram, hysteroscopy, laparoscopy, and an excretory urogram (IVP). At laparoscopy, we found an unicornuate uterus without a rudimentary horn. An anomaly of the portal vein associated with an anomalous hepatic vein is described as the first reported case. A 44-year-old woman was incidentally found to have a huge hemangioma by ultrasonography. Computed tomography revealed an anomalous portal system with a normally located gallbladder and round ligament. Arterial portography revealed anomalous branching of the portal vein, with absence of the left umbilical portion, the curved right portal branch mimicked the right-sided umbilical portion. Hepatic venography demonstrated patent umbilical veins communicating with the left hepatic vein.

Fibrocyte degeneration in the cochlear lateral wall is one possible pathology of age-related metabolic hearing loss (presbycusis). Within the lateral wall fibrocytes play a role in potassium recycling and maintenance of the endocochlear potential. BACKGROUND/AIM: Primary hepatic leiomyosarcoma is an extremely rare type of liver sarcoma with relatively poor prognosis, with about 50 cases having been reported in the literature. BACKGROUND: Recurrent ipsilateral ovarian torsion at pediatric age is a rare event. Different surgical techniques for its prevention are available. We present a case of recurrent ipsilateral ovarian torsion in a prepubertal girl and we reviewed the literature about the management of this condition.
CASE: A 6-year-old girl presented with right ovarian torsion and underwent a laparoscopic untwisting. Nine months later an ipsilateral recurrence occurred. Laparoscopic untwisting and right-sided oophoropexy with plication to the round ligament was performed.
