We report the case of a 9-year-old girl who presented for a routine change of glasses. On slit-lamp examination, no abnormality was detected; however, dilated fundus examination revealed profuse myelination of the retinal nerves around the disk of the right eye along with an optic disk pit inferotemporally. We report a case of mycotic keratitis caused by Lasiodiplodia theobromae in a 60-year-old man with a history of ocular trauma with vegetable matter. Ophthalmological assessment with slit-lamp and microbiological evaluation of the corneal ulcer by conventional microbiological techniques were performed. AIM: To study the association between chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) and Mooren's type keratitis.
METHOD: A total of 50 patients with chronic HCV were screened for any evidence of corneal ulceration. Detailed ocular examination was conducted by slit-lamp biomicroscopy. Patients with history of trauma to the eye or previous herpetic keratitis were excluded from the study.
RESULTS: There were 37 males and 13 females. The age of the patients ranged from 10 to 70 years. There was no evidence of Mooren's ulcer in any of our patients.

A pilot study has been carried out to examine the efficacy of diode laser trabeculoplasty in the treatment of primary open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension. The device used was portable and could be attached to a standard slit-lamp microscope. Powers of 0.8-1.2 W were used, with a spot size of 100 microns and a pulse of 0.20 second. In the present study we have reconfirmed an earlier observation of the association of iridocyclitis with limited joint involvement in children with JRA. Children who develop iridocyclitis are predominantly girls whose sera are positive for antinuclear antibodies. Iridocyclitis was found to be asymptomatic at onset.
