Facial paralysis in the midface causes loss of cheek tonus, asymmetry at rest, and inability to smile. Static suspension is generally performed in patients who cannot tolerate time-consuming dynamic reanimation. Current methods for static slings are overly simplistic. A sling, which is generally fascia lata or palmaris tendon, is placed between the modiolus and the zygomatic arch or the temporalis fascia, with further extension to the midline of the upper end lower lips in 1 vector. Recently, sutures are placed in a multivectorial approach, but suture failure via breakage is the main problem.

PURPOSE: Single-access laparoscopic surgery was first introduced for colectomy and later adapted for anterior resection. During single-access laparoscopic pelvic procedures, such as total mesorectal excision, it is often difficult to obtain an adequate operative field. A 10-year-old boy with Noonan syndrome presented with bilateral ptosis. He had a history of keloid scarring. A modified technique of frontalis suspension with autogenous fascia lata is described to avoid forehead wounds. This uses an eyelid crease incision, dissection under the orbicularis to the orbital rim, and passage of the fascia lata into a shallow arc through the frontalis muscle. It is then passed inferiorly through the septum and secured to the tarsus.

This is the second published case report of Lleuprolide acetate for depot suspension (LD)-induced mania. Both reports detail a patient with a prior psychiatric history of both depressive and hypomanic episodes. While depression is a predictable and documented side effect of LD and menopause (especially in those with a previoushistory of symptoms), manic reactions are rare and unexplained. Possible causative mechanismsbehind the LD-induced manic episodes are discussed, and we suggest that patients with a single previous hypomanic episode are at risk for LD-induced mania.
