The visceral pleura of 8 lung tissue specimens with non-tumorous pleural lesions and of 10 specimens with secondary pleural infiltration of different primary tumours were tested by avidin-biotin-method with the following antibodies: anti-keratin KL1, anti-vimentin V9, anti-CEA (BMA 130c), HEA 125, Leu M1, HMFG 2 and anti-collagen type IV. We necropsied an American black bear (Ursus americanus) from central Utah, US and found several liters of cloudy fluid and multiple white nodules in the peritoneal cavity. Histopathologic examination and staining with pancytokeratin and vimentin markers identified a peritoneal mesothelioma. Mesothelioma has not been reported previously in black bears.

Following a short critical review of the most recent literature, the present study reports a case of angiosarcoma of the gingiva, localized at the level of the vestibular surface of the lower incisor region. The intense positive reaction of neoplastic elements to factor VIII-correlated antigen, negative for cytokeratin and positive for vimentin, allowed the vascular nature of the neoplasia to be confirmed.

This report describes a patient who presented with a large thyroid nodule and compressive symptoms. Immunohistochemical staining showed diffuse marked reactivity for vimentin and focal reactivity for CD68 and Ki-67 that is compatible with primary undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma of the thyroid. This report emphasizes and discusses extremely rare thyroid cancer type.

Reported in this paper is a case of a fetus delivered in the 24th week of pregnancy whose intracranial space was found to be almost totally filled up by a choroid plexus papilloma.
