Radiocarpal dislocations (RCDs) are one of the rare injuries that happen to the wrist in which there is a partial or complete loss of contact between the carpus and distal radius. CASE REPORT: A case of altered condylar morphology in adult male with temporomandibular disorders was reported in 30-year-old male patient. Erosion and flattening of the left mandibular condyle were observed by panoramic x-ray. The patient was treated with splint therapy that determined mandibular advancement. A 56-year-old man with rheumatoid arthritis was admitted to our hospital with dyspnea on exertion, fever and right chest pain. Chronic eosinophilic pneumonia (CEP) belongs to a group of syndromes manifested by pulmonary infiltrates with peripheral eosinophilia (PIE syndromes). The role of the eosinophil as a destructive agent in CEP is discussed. The degree of manifested eosinophilia at the time of diagnosis, the frequency of relapses of pneumonia, the response to steroid therapy, the status of current physical and x-ray findings, and especially the trend in pulmonary function data, all appear to be critical factors in determining the potential mortality risk of CEP cases.

In brief The younger the active patient who has prolonged, localized back pain near the midline, the more likely he or she has spondylolysis or other pars injury. A careful examination with appropriate x-rays is critical because of the high incidence of structural vertebral problems associated with children's low-back pain. Early diagnosis helps the patient to return to sports quickly; conservative therapy of relative rest and stretching is often successful.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO) is applied very successfully in treatment of various diseases such as chronic wounds. It has been already suggested as adjunctive treatment option for osteitis by immune- and fracture modulating effects. Two cases of leiomyosarcoma of the rectum are reported in which the diagnosis required repeated biopsy in order to differentiate the lesions from their benign counterparts and other tumors. One patient presented with an ischiorectal abscess. The author is unaware of any similar presentation reported previously. Close follow-up is essential in order to detect local recurrence. There is no evidence of any significant advantage in the use of chemotherapy or deep x-ray therapy, and they were therefore not used in either case.

Pulmonary sarcomatoid carcinoma (PSC) is a rare, aggressive cancer with early metastasis and poor prognosis. Chest X-ray and computed tomography (CT) are common modalities used to detect malignancy, and the diagnosis is confirmed with tissue biopsy. There are currently no guidelines for therapy when treating this condition as it often displays resistance to typical first-line chemotherapy agents. We present a case of PSC with brain metastasis and our approach to management to remind clinicians of this rare condition and the limited choices of treatment.

A case of small-cell lung cancer with prompt worsening of the clinical course was observed in a patient with significant immune restoration after receiving effective highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) for seven months. Rapid and enormous enlargement of metastatic liver was the main symptom. Chest x-ray showed an enlargement of the left hilus. The patient died 22 days after the onset of the fulminant disease. We suggest that the occurrence and aggressive course of the lung cancer resulted from the development of immune reconstitution syndrome.

Physical examination, bone densitometry and x-ray are the mainstay in the evaluation of osteoporosis. A limited number of simple blood tests are sufficient to discriminate most secondary forms of osteoporosis and to exclude osteomalacia. Bone-specific biochemical markers play an increasing role in monitoring osteoporosis therapy. They may also play a role in treatment decision in the coming years. Bone biopsies are helpful if findings are unclear or inconsistent. The present review gives a summary of the opportunities and limitations of the above diagnostic procedures.

We present the case of a male patient with sero-negative rheumatoid arthritis, treated with gold salts, admitted for clinical symptoms and chest X-ray alterations suggesting an interstitial lung disease. This was confirmed by complex lung function tests and fiber bronchoscopy with broncho-alveolar lavage. Considerations are made about the etiology of interstitial lung disease (pulmonary determination of the rheumatoid arthritis or secondary to the gold salts therapy), about the treatment and long-term prognosis, and about the good clinical, functional and radiological evolution under treatment

Until now the most important factor affecting the surgical treatment of ventricular septal defect (VSD) is pulmonary hypertention. 307 patients with ventricular septal defect (VSD) were treated surgically from May 1989 to May 1995 with a mortality rate of 2.9%. Additional to conventional x-ray examinations, high-resolution CT has a greater impact on the diagnostic evaluation of severe spine injuries. It allows exact judgment of the condition of vertebral arch, articular processes, joints and spinal axis and therefore a better delineation of the stability or instability of spinal fractures. Intraspinal fracture of spinal stenosis and intra or paraspinal soft tissues lesions are much more easily detected. For this reasons CT-evaluation of severe spinal traumata permits earlier, much more precise and in many cases successful therapy.
