Significant renal artery stenosis (RAS) is a potentially curable cause of renovascular hypertension and/or renal impairment. It is caused by either atherosclerosis or fibromuscular dysplasia. OBJECTIVES: The objective of the study was to determine the clinical utility of 320-detector row volume-computed tomographic angiography (VCTA) in the management of intracranial aneurysms.
METHODS: Between February 2011 and May 2015, 550 patients successfully underwent 320-detector row VCTA for suspected intracranial aneurysms. Three-dimensional (3D) digital subtraction angiography (DSA) was used as the ultimate reference standard, and the sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of both nonsubtracted and subtracted VCTA in identifying aneurysms were analyzed.

OBJECTIVE: To examine changes of expression and activity of phosphodiesterase V (PDE V) in the basilar artery following cerebral vasospasm (CVS) after subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) in a rabbit model.
METHODS: A rabbit model of CVS after SAH was constructed by double blood injection into the cisterna magna. Subjects were divided into 3 groups: blank control group, normal saline group, and SAH group. Tracheoesophageal fistula is a pathologic communication between the trachea and the esophagus that can cause severe complications and progress rapidly, potentially leading to death in a short period. This report describes a case of malignant tracheoesophageal fistula treated with an atrial septal defect occluder under digital subtraction angiography guidance using 3-dimensional printing assistance. Postoperative computed tomography and bronchoscopy showed good recovery, significant relief of infection symptoms, and marked improvement in airway irritation symptoms.

We describe a technique of injecting alcohol into venous malformations (VM) under slow digital subtraction angiography (DSA) which eliminates the need to pre-mix the alcohol with a contrast agent. The technique presented here is especially helpful when Metrizamide is not available or not permitted for use. It offers an elegant way to visualize, in real time, the alcohol injected into the VM, while preserving its high concentration and potency as a sclerosing agent.

We report four patients with blunt arterial trauma of the upper limb following unusual mechanisms of injury in two patients (one fell on the handlebars of his bicycle, the second was crushed by a moving lawn mower) and due to bicycle accidents in two further patients. The use of digital subtraction angiography (DSA) in all patients, together with colour Doppler imaging (CDI) in one patient, provided optimum preoperative identification and localisation of the arterial lesions.

A case of arteriovenous fistula of the left internal mammary artery occluded by Gianturco coil is reported. A 26-year-old male suffered multiple explosive injuries. Right heart failure developed postoperatively. Digital subtraction angiography demonstrated arteriovenous fistulas between the left internal mammary artery and left subclavian and innominate veins. Considering previous multiple surgical interventions and severe general condition of the patient, both arteriovenous fistulas were successfully occluded by transcatheter placement of a Gianturco coil.

A 28-year-old woman with Marfan's syndrome presented with chest pain; transesophageal echocardiography showed circumferential dissection of the ascending aorta. Both aortic angiography with digital subtraction and computed tomography scanning with contrast were negative for dissection. Circumferential dissection of the ascending aorta was confirmed by surgery at which time replacement of the aorta and aortic valve were performed. Transesophageal echocardiography may become the most practical and reliable procedure for the diagnosis of aortic dissection.
