Salvaging the Constricted or Lost Umbilicus After Abdominoplasty With Early Mercedes Release, Silver Nitrate, and Foam Earplug Stenting: Stairway to Heaven.

Umbilical stenosis is an underrecognized complication following abdominoplasty, driven by cicatricial contracture, myofibroblast-mediated centripetal tension, and stalk ischemia. As the central aesthetic focal point of the abdomen, umbilical malposition or deformity is among the most frequent contributors to postoperative dissatisfaction. We present a 40-year-old female who developed umbilical stenosis 9 months following abdominoplasty with native stalk preservation, managed successfully with a minimally invasive outpatient protocol. A Mercedes-pattern incision was employed to release circumfe

Of odysseys and miracles: A narrative approach on therapeutic mobilities for ayurveda treatment.

In the past two decades, health care has become a global market and transnational practice. An emerging body of literature examines the astounding variety of drivers, conditions, and experiences. However, the question of how traveling abroad for treatment emerges as an option and takes shape in people's illness trajectories has gained little attention thus far. This article attends to this gap by following the stories of people with chronic conditions who travel to India for Ayurveda treatment out of dissatisfaction with local biomedical health care. This study expands the focus of current res

Editorial Commentary: Arthroscopic Partial Meniscectomy Outcomes Are Worse in Patients With Concomitant Pathology.

Arthroscopic debridement for degenerative joint disease has not been shown to be beneficial, and initial nonoperative management is now recommended for degenerative meniscal tears. Indications for arthroscopic partial meniscectomy (APM) are traumatic tears with a clear history of mechanical symptoms, such as locking and catching, with joint-line pain or acute onset of symptoms that have failed nonsurgical treatment. Predictors of dissatisfaction with APM include female sex, obesity, and lateral meniscal tears. Beyond such demographic factors, concomitant joint pathology negatively affects outc

Although IPED use has been consistently associated with body image disturbances and eating-related psychopathology, its relationship with behavioural addict…
