OBJECTIVE: To study the characteristics of vulval sarcoma and its relationship between treatment methods and prognostic factors.
METHODS: 10 cases of vulval sarcoma were retrospectively reviewed in this paper. Prognostic factors such as tumor volume, grade and treatment methods were analysed.
RESULTS: The age-incidence sarcoma of the vulva was 20 years younger than that of carcinoma of the vulva. The treatment of choice was operation combined with chemotherapy or radiotherapy. The effectiveness of chemotherapy or radiotherapy alone was not conclusive.

The growth of tumours in guinea-pigs was observed for 20 weeks after placing them on various doses of vitamin C. Complete tumour regression occurred in 55% of those animals receiving 0-3 mg/kg/day ascorbic acid, whereas animals given 10 mg/kg/day showed tumour inhibition but no regression. Low-grade fibromyxoid sarcoma (LGFMS) is a rare soft tissue malignant tumor that presents as a slowly enlarging painless mass that is difficult to differentiate from other neoplasms. Low-grade myofibroblastic sarcoma (LGMS) represents an atypical tumor composed of myofibroblasts with a predilection for the head and neck, especially in the tongue and oral cavity, with a high tendency to local recurrence and metastasis, even after a long period. Myxofibrosarcoma is one of the rare soft tissue sarcomas. We present a case of a 65-year-old male having large soft tissue mass over right upper arm associated with surface ulceration. On histopathological study tumor was diagnosed as myxofibrosarcoma - high grade according to modified FNCLCC grading system. Like many other tumors of connective tissue, soft tissue sarcoma exhibits high recurrence. Desmoplastic fibroma (DF) is a benign but aggressive intraosseous tumor. These lesions are categorized as central tumors of bone. They are composed of small fibroblasts in a setting of abundant extracellular material, which is rich in collagen. DF represents fewer than 0.1% of all bony tumors. They can be found in any part of the skeleton. Based upon on our literature review, we believe this is the second reported case of desmoplastic fibroma occurring in the zygoma area.

BACKGROUND: Solitary fibrous tumors (SFTs) are rare spindle cell neoplasms that typically arise in the pleura. There are several reports of cases that arose from a variety of sites. Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans is a neoplasm composed of cells that have morphologic characteristics of fibroblasts and histiocytes. We report the eighth documented case of dermatofibroma protuberans metastatic to regional lymph nodes. The metastases consisted predominantly of cells that appeared to be atypical histiocytes. This case is considered to be an example of dermatofibroma protuberans in which primitive histiocytic cells have not acquired secondarily acquired fibroblastic characteristics.

Infants with a fibromatosis that originates in the laryngeal mucosa have uniform clinical appearances and morphologic features that identify a clinicopathologic syndrome.
