Fluconazole is an efficient antifungal drug used in the treatment and prevention of superficial and systemic fungal infections. A calcified plaque on the surface of a senile cataractous lens (CL) isolated from a 79-year-old male patient was identified and its chemical composition quantified using Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and confocal Raman microspectroscopies. We describe our preliminary experience with the half-Fourier acquisition single-shot turbo spin-echo (HASTE) sequences for MR imaging of the salivary gland ducts. In the majority of patients, the main parotid and/or submandibular gland ducts and large branches within the glands were detectable on MR images obtained in 2 seconds per section and within 3 minutes for the entire examination. MR sialography using HASTE sequences can be combined with conventional MR studies for the salivary glands.

The present report describes a rare case of triatrial heart, cor triatriatum dextrum in a 31-year-old woman in whom the anomaly was incidentally detected by radionuclide angiocardiography. Subsequent assessment with two-dimensional echocardiography and right heart catheterization confirmed the presence of a membrane subdividing the right atrium into two distinct chambers. To the best of our knowledge, this is the only case in which this cardiac anomaly was demonstrated by radionuclide technique.

In this study, the effects of vasodilator drugs on the turbulent sound generation mechanisms during femoral artery stenoses were investigated using the wavelet analysis of the turbulent sounds to characterize these sounds before and after the injection of vasodilator drugs.
