Schwannomas were diagnosed in twelve dogs and five cats at Massey University Small Animal Clinic and Hospital over a 15-year period (1977-92). OBJECTIVE: To describe a caudomedial instrumental portal for caudal pole meniscectomy (CPM).
STUDY DESIGN: Experimental ex-vivo study.
SAMPLE POPULATION: Ten cadaveric hindlimbs of 10 large breed dogs.

Vertebrate Hox genes regulate many aspects of embryonic body plan development and patterning. In particular, Hox genes have been shown to regulate regional patterning of the axial and appendicular skeleton and of the central nervous system.
