BACKGROUND: Intravenous cyclophosphamide (IVCY) pulse therapy has been used for lupus nephritis since the latter half of the 1980s; it has been shown to be effective for lupus nephritis and vasculitis and has become a standard therapy for the diffuse proliferative type of lupus nephritis in adults. Isolated origin of the subclavian artery is a congenital anomaly of the aortic arch in which one subclavian artery originates from the homolateral pulmonary artery through the ductus arteriosus. Isolated right subclavian artery with left-sided aortic arch is extremely rare. We report a case of isolated right subclavian artery from the right pulmonary artery via a right-sided ductus arteriosus in a 4-year-old girl. The child presented with subclavian pulmonary steal with perfusion of the right arm and lung from the right vertebral and carotid arteries. She underwent successful surgical repair.

CONCLUSION: According to this long-term study, the Meniett pulse generator is a safe, effective, and non-destructive therapy that can reduce vertiginous symptoms and associated functional handicap and partly show an improvement of hearing in medically intractable and active Meniere's disease.
