Supporting Collaboration in Rehabilitation Trajectories With Information and Communication Technologies: Scoping Review.

BACKGROUND: Despite a surge in health information and communication technology (ICT), there is little evidence of lowered cost or increased quality of care. ICT may support patients, health care providers, and other stakeholders through complex rehabilitation trajectories by offering digital platforms for collaboration, shared decision-making, and safe storage of data. Yet, the questions on how ICT can become a useful tool and how the complex intersection between producers and users of ICT should be solved are challenging. OBJECTIVE: This study aims to review the literature on how ICTs are us

Meeting the needs of autistic adults in Qatar: Stakeholder perspectives on gaps in services and priorities for future programming.

Qatar is expanding the services that it offers for autistic people, but these services focus mainly on diagnosing and treating young children. Because there are not enough autism providers in Qatar and few opportunities for autistic youth to participate in the community, more and more autistic teens and young adults have unmet needs during their transition to adulthood. The goal of this study was to conduct a needs assessment of transition-age autistic youth in Qatar and their families in order to inform the development of an adult respite care and support center. Respite care is a service tha

The Communicative Participation Item Bank: Evaluating, and Reevaluating, Its Use across Communication Disorders in Adults.

Patient-reported outcomes (PROs) are essential in patient-centered, evidence-based practice in speech-language pathology. PROs respect individuals who live with communication disorders as key stakeholders providing a critically unique perspective on consequences of communication disorders, and whether interventions bring about meaningful changes. Some PROs focus on specific communication symptoms such as voice or language symptom severity, while others focus on broader constructs such as quality of life. Many PROs target specific diagnostic groups. This article presents the Communicative Parti

Outcome Measures in Rheumatology - Interventions for medication Adherence (OMERACT-Adherence) Core Domain Set for Trials of Interventions for Medication Adherence in Rheumatology: 5 Phase Study Protocol.

BACKGROUND: Over the last 20 years, there have been marked improvements in the availability of effective medications for rheumatic conditions such as gout, osteoporosis and rheumatoid arthritis (RA), which have led to a reduction in disease flares and the risk of re-fracture in osteoporosis, and the slowing of disease progression in RA. However, medication adherence remains suboptimal, as treatment regimens can be complex and difficult to continue long term. Many trials have been conducted to improve adherence to medication. Core domains, which are the outcomes of most relevance to patients an

Selection of relevant domains and instruments for the ASAS core set to assess axial spondyloarthritis in clinical practice: a Delphi survey of stakeholders.

OBJECTIVES: The Assessment of SpondyloArthritis international Society (ASAS) aims to develop a core set for the assessment of axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA) in clinical practice to improve standardisation. The first step is to explore stakeholder preferences regarding candidate domains and instruments used for their assessment. METHODS: A scoping literature review was conducted to inform the development of a Delphi survey comprising 3 planned rounds, with provision for additional rounds. Three stakeholder groups (ASAS members, non-ASAS rheumatologists, and patients with axSpA) participated.

Developing a core outcome set for fistulising perianal Crohn's disease.

OBJECTIVE: Lack of standardised outcomes hampers effective analysis and comparison of data when comparing treatments in fistulising perianal Crohn's disease (pCD). Development of a standardised set of outcomes would resolve these issues. This study provides the definitive core outcome set (COS) for fistulising pCD. DESIGN: Candidate outcomes were generated through a systematic review and patient interviews. Consensus was established via a three-round Delphi process using a 9-point Likert scale based on how important they felt it was in determining treatment success culminating in a final cons

The use and sale of smokeless tobacco (SLT) is prohibited in Uganda under the Tobacco Control Act (TCA), 2015. Nonetheless, SLT products remain available, and there are limited and inconsistent data on SLT users. Additionally, the perceptions of tobacco control stakeholders on SLT are unknown, making it difficult to determine barriers to enforcing the ban. This study examined perceptions of tobacco control stakeholders regarding SLT in Uganda. Qualitative semi-structured interviews were conducted with stakeholders who were purposively selected from ministries, semi-autonomous government agenci

Framing business continuity to achieve lasting focus.

Business continuity programmes frequently suffer from two core problems. First, many programmes fail to focus on what is critically important to the organisation and its stakeholders. Secondly, many programmes fail to engage programme participants to achieve preparedness goals. Both problems impact the programme's strategic direction, scope and performance. The frame process described here provides a detailed method for business continuity practitioners to engage with top management and other key stakeholders to determine and then address what is most important to the organisation. This proces
